PROVO, Utah — San Diego women's soccer (5-6, 0-2 WCC) continues West Coast Conference play at No. 20 BYU (7-3-1, 2-0-0 WCC) this weekend, traveling to Utah to take on the Cougars.

ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS BYU
The Toreros are 3-10-0 against the Cougars all-time, with the two programs' most recent meeting coming in March of 2021, a USD loss at Torero Stadium.
The two teams most played in Utah in October of 2019, a 3-1 San Diego defeat at BYU's South Field.
The Toreros' last win against BYU came on the road, a 2-1 decision in September of 2019.
LAST TIME OUT
USD dropped a 4-0 decision to No. 6 Pepperdine last time out on Wednesday, October 6, falling to the Waves at Torero Stadium.
The Waves took control early, posting goals in the 26th, 29th, and 45th minutes to take a 3-0 advantage into the break. The road team sealed the win with a tally in the 70th minute following a corner kick.
How It Happened
- Sydney Hopkins launched a shot from 30 yards out in the 15th minute, but the Pepperdine keeper punched it over the net for a corner kick.
- The Waves struck first in the 26th minute on a fast break, making a move to the left around the goalkeeper at the 18 and finding the back of the net.
- Pepperdine added to its lead in the 29th minute, dribbling up the left side and sending a low cross across the box for a tap-in.
- In the 36th minute, Ellyn Casto came up with a big one-on-one stop after a Pepperdine forward broke free.
- Just before halftime, the Waves extended their lead to 3-0 after a corner kick scramble.
- Pepperdine sent a long cross to the far post in the 70th minute, where a volley made it 4-0.

- Casto ended with four saves, and is up to 45 on the season (4.5 per game).
- Hopkins and Eden Quiroz led USD with two shots each.
- Michaela Foster has yet to come off the field this season, recording 1,005 minutes played in 11 matches.

Michaela Foster has been the Toreros' most dynamic scorer so far in 2021, leading the team with three goals on 12 shots (six on goal) for a total of six points.
The Hamilton, New Zealand native most recently scored on September 25 against Denver, helping USD to a 2-1 victory over the Pioneers at Torero Stadium.
She has yet to come off the field this season, recording 1005 minutes played in 12 matches.

Behind Foster with six, four Toreros are tied for second place on the roster with four total points so far this season.

Aryssa Mahrt,
Maronne Suzuki, and
