SAN DIEGO—No. 18 San Diego will return to the Jenny Craig Pavilion after its four-match road trip to play host to San Francisco on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Toreros (8-0, 8-0 WCC) will face the Dons (5-3, 5-3 WCC) in a pair of matches on Wednesday at 1 p.m. PT and on Thursday at 12 p.m. PT.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros went 4-0 on their busy road trip in week four, winning 3-1 in both matches at Santa Clara and 3-0 and 3-2 at Gonzaga to improve to 8-0.

• On Tuesday, the Toreros took the first match with the Broncos, 25-16, 20-25, 25-21, 25-15.
Roxie Wiblin and
Grace Frohling paced the USD offense with 14 and 13 kills respectively. Frohling also recorded a double-double with 11 digs and
Camryn Tastad led USD in the back court with 13 digs. The Toreros finished the day with 10 blocks, paced by
Lauren Turner with six.

• Wednesday's match was nearly identical with USD coming out on top, 25-17, 17-25, 25-23, 25-18. Wiblin, Frohling and
Thana Fayad all recorded double-doubles in the contest, led by Fayad with 16 kills and 17 digs. Â

• USD got its fourth sweep of the season in Friday's opening match at Gonzaga, 25-19, 25-17, 25-17. Fayad and Wiblin led the offense with 14 kills each and Wiblin notched her fourth double-double, adding 12 digs.
Laura Madill also recorded a double-double with 32 assists and 10 digs. Freshman middle
Elly Schraeder led the charge at the net defensively, collecting seven of USD's 11 blocks.

• In Saturday's rematch with the Bulldogs, USD played its first five-setter of the season, coming out on top 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, 20-25, 15-10. Fayad collected a career-high 23 kills, adding 16 digs and three aces in a standout performance. Wiblin also collected a double-double with 17 kills and 14 digs and Frohling chipped in with 12 kills. The Toreros were led in the back court by
Annie Benbow who recorded a career-best 25 digs in her first start at libero this season.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAN FRANCISCO
• Wednesday will be the 75th meeting between the Toreros and the Dons. USD leads the all-time series 56-18 and swept the series last season 3-0 in both matchups.

• The teams first met during the 1981 season and San Diego holds a 10-match winning streak dating back to Oct. 30, 2014 when USF took home a 3-0 victory in San Francisco.

IN THE RANKINGS
• San Diego remained at No. 18 in the AVCA Weekly Coaches Poll for week five, after receiving the same ranking the previous week.

• The Toreros appeared at No. 23 in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll and have since moved up five spots in five weeks of the season rankings.

• The Toreros have appeared in the national top-25 poll for 23 consecutive seasons, with 22 top-10 appearances. USD's highest ranking was No. 2 overall (Sept. 16, 2013).

LOOKING AHEAD
• Next up, the Toreros will begin their longest string of matches on the road beginning at Pacific on March 5 and 6, followed by Loyola Marymount on March 12 and 13.

FROHLING EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WEEK FOUR

Grace Frohling was named the WCC Player of the Week (Feb. 22) for week four after collecting double-doubles in all three of USD's matches to finish 3-0 in the week.

• The sophomore opposite averaged 3.63 kills per set, 3.18 digs per set and added eight aces and 11 blocks for 53.5 points.

HOT START FOR WIBLIN
•Â
Roxie Wiblin came out of the gate swinging to begin her senior campaign. The 6-2 outside hitter led the team in kills in six of USD's first eight matches, including matching her career-high 20 kills against Portland (Feb. 10). Wiblin also leads the team with five double-doubles so far this season.

• Wiblin is hitting at a .327 clip and averaging 4.10 kills per set to start the season which ranks first in the WCC and 54th nationally.

MADILL LEADING THE CHARGE
• Junior setter
Laura Madill has directed the offense to a .297 clip in her debut as the starting setter for USD, ranking second in the WCC and 11th in the country.

• USD is averaging 13.72 kills per set in its first eight matches, ranking third in the conference and 42nd in the NCAA. Madill is also averaging 10.37 assists per set which ranks third in the conference and 43rd nationally.

DOMINATING DEFENSE
• The Toreros rank second in the WCC (74th nationally) in blocks per set with 2.28 and third in the conference in digs per set with 15.41. USD has held its opponents to a .143 hitting percentage which ranks first in the WCC and 34th in the country.

Elly Schraeder is leading the charge at the net, averaging 1.24 blocks per set to rank second in the WCC and 64th in the NCAA.
Lauren Turner also ranks in the top five in the conference with 1.14 blocks per set (R-4th).

BACK-TO-BACK WEEKLY AWARDS
• San Diego took home the WCC Offensive Player of the Week award in back-to-back weeks.
Roxie Wiblin took home the honors in week three (Feb. 15) and
Grace Frohling received recognition in week four (Feb. 22).
