SAN DIEGO - San Diego softball (1-5)Â will play five games in three days with a series against UC Santa Barbara (0-3) before playing host to No. 2 Washington (9-1).

The Toreros will open series action against the Gauchos on Friday at 2 and 4:30 p.m. before the series finale on Saturday at noon. Sunday's double header against the Huskies is set for 10 a.m. and noon (PT).

LAST TIME OUT
- San Diego notched the first win of the MJ Knighten era with a 1-0 shutout of Cal State Fullerton
- Freshman McKenna Braegelmann combined with sophomore Courtney Rose to keep the Titans at bay
- Sofia Delgado led the offense in the contest with a leadoff triple in the bottom of the fifth. Clareese Santiago then brought her home on a blooper single to left to record the sole RBI in the contest
- The Toreros split double header action against the Titans as Cal State Fullerton took game one 3-1Â
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST UCSB
- UC Santa Barbara holds advantage in the all-time series leading San Diego 19-8. The Toreros are 4-5 at home against the Gauchos but are currently on a three-game winning streak.
- The last time the two programs met was in a series during the 2019 season where the Toreros swept three games winning 1-0, 2-1 and then 8-1 at home.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST THE HUSKIES
- Sunday's double header will mark only the fourth and fifth time the Huskies and the Toreros have met in program history.
- No. 2 Washington leads the all-time series 3-0 as the Toreros have fallen in the sole home contest.
- Each time the two programs have met, Washington was ranked in the top 10 in the country with the last matchup coming in 2014. San Diego fell 3-0 against UW in the contest.
SURPRISE SHORTY!
- Freshman Amanda Limon continues to be San Diego's offensive bright spot hitting .400 on the year. Limon has started all six contests for the Toreros and has registered six hits with a .500 on base percentage
- Limon leads the Toreros in hits, total bases, walks, on base percentage and slugging percentage
- Limon has also made an impact defensively for the Toreros starting at third base and short stop. She's committed only two errors in six games of work for a .905 fielding percentage in her first collegiate season
PITCHING BY COMMITTEE
- San Diego has seen six different pitchers enter the circle so far this season as Braegelmann made an impressive collegiate debut allowing only two hits in five innings of work
- Madison Earnshaw continues to lead the staff with a 1.11 ERA in the most innings pitched at 19
- Earnshaw has allowed only three earned runs and has struck out 11 in 71 at bats
- Halle Kyler also has an ERA under two at 1.31 in five innings of work in relief
