Toreros Set to Face Biola and UCSD

San Diego softball will face Biola at home, before traveling to La Jolla

SAN DIEGO - San Diego softball (6-13) will look to rebound this week a Wednesday matchup against Biola, before a local matchup against UC San Diego on Sunday.
 
Wednesday's double header will get underway at 4 p.m. (PT) and will be live streamed on Facebook Live. Fans can also tune in to live statistics coverage on USDToreros.com or follow along on social media.
 
Due to state and local guidelines, fans are not permitted inside the USD Softball Complex.
 
The Toreros will take on the Tritons on Sunday beginning at noon (PT) in La Jolla.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Toreros fell in double header action on the road at Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton
  • San Diego kept pace with the Beach, losing by only two runs in each contest
 
AMONG THE WEST COAST CONFERENCE
  • San Diego currently ranks in the top two in multiple statistics categories as WCC play slowly approaches
  • The Toreros are ranked second in ERA, fielding percentage, shutouts and strikeout-to-walk ratio
  • Offensively, the Toreros rank second in triples per game at .21
 
IN THE CIRCLE
  • Freshman McKenna Braegelmann continues to pace the toreros in the circle with a 1.27 ERA
  • She is currently 3-1 on the year, recording 20 strikeouts and allowing only 13 hits in 73 at bats
  • Veteran Madison Earnshaw continues to be the work horse for the Toreros with a team leading eight starts in 2021
  • Earnshaw as thrown 44 innings so far, walking only nine and striking out 24
 
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST BIOLA
  • Wednesday's matchup will mark only the third and fourth games between Biola and San Diego
  • The Toreros are 0-2 in the all-time series with the last matchup coming in 2001 where USD fell in double header action.
