ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
- The Toreros lead the all-time series at 15-7 and are currently on a four-game winning streak
- This marks the first matchup between the two programs since 1999, where San Diego won on the road 5-2 and 13-0Â
LAST TIME OUT
- San Diego won two of its last four games with a game two victory against crosstown rival UC San Diego highlighting Sunday's action
- Team offense led the way as the Toreros rallied to win game two, 5-4
- Simms led the Toreros in the box going 3-for-4 in the contest with a double and two RBI.
- The game remained tied until the top of the sixth when Halle Kyler led off with a single to short. It was Simms again who would come through in the leadoff spot with an RBI single break the tie and make it 4-3 USD
- Sophia Bjerk added an insurance run with a pinch-hit RBI double to secure the victory
IN THE CIRCLE
- The Toreros currently rank second in the West Coast Conference in ERA at 3.36 and have also limited opponents to only six homeruns on the year, the lowest in the WCC.
- Courtney Rose earned WCC Pitcher of the Week nods after an impressive performance two weeks ago with a 0.75 ERA on the week in nine innings of work.
- Rose leads San Diego in innings pitched (49.1) and strikeouts (36).
- Freshman McKenna Braegelmann continues to lead the pitching staff with a conference-leading 1.62 ERA as hitters are only averaging .183 off the southpaw.
STEADY SIMMS
- Rion Simms found her rhythm in the batter's box in San Diego's last matchups securing new game-highs in multiple categories
- The 3-for-4 effort against the Tritons marks the most hits by a Torero since Simms notched three earlier this month versus Long Beach State
- The redshirt junior has been a consistent starter for the Toreros, appearing in 22 of 23 games
- She currently leads San Diego in RBIs and doubles, while ranking second in hits
