Swimming and Diving Wins ELAC Invitational

Toreros place first of 14 teams with total of 1933.5 points

LOS ANGELES — San Diego swimming and diving won the ELAC Invitational at the ELAC Swim Stadium last weekend, finishing first out of 14 teams with a total of 1933.5 points.

The Toreros tallied two first-place finishes, one second-place finish, and one third-place finish in the Sunday finals to secure the victory, with freshman Anna Vermeulen placing first in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 17:21.93 for 32 points, senior Callie Johnson finishing second in the 100 Yard IM with a time of 59.58 for 28 points, and junior Jayne Brandt placing just behind at third in the same event with a time of 1:00.10 for 27 points after sophomore Jane Riehs won the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 265.80 for 32 points.
