Men’s Basketball Travels to #22 Saint Mary’s Thursday

MORAGA, CA – The University of San Diego men's basketball faces another tough test on Thursday, making the trip to Moraga to face #22 Saint Mary's.

LAST TIME OUT
A second half comeback by San Diego fell short against Santa Clara on Saturday, 79-66. The Toreros trailed by as many as 23 late in the first half, and cut the deficit to 10 with 10:22 left in regulation. The Broncos kept their lead above 10 for the remainder of the contest. Senior Marcellus Earlington led all scorers with 23 points (10-14 FG) and also led the team with eight rebounds. Freshman Wayne McKinney added 14 points, including two triples and a season-high four steals.
 
SCOUTING THE GAELS
Saint Mary's entered the AP Top-25 for the first time since 2019 this week, coming in at No. 22. The Gaels rank sixth in the NCAA in scoring defense at 58.4 points per game, and their offense has scored at least 70 points in nine of their last 10 games. Saint Mary's features three scorers in double figures, including senior forward Matthias Tass (13.2 PPG, 6.4 RPG), junior forward Alex Ducas (11.1 PPG, 3.7 RPG), and senior guard Logan Johnson (10.7 PPG, 3.3 RPG).
