LAST TIME OUT
The Toreros took all three games at Pacific over the weekend, beating the Tigers by scores of 9-4, 9-6, and 12-5 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

FRIDAY (San Diego 9, Pacific 4): Redshirt sophomore righty Ryan Kysar turned in a career-high seven innings on the mound enroute to his third win of 2022. Sophomore infielder Chase Meidroth led the way for the Toreros at the plate with a 3-for-5 evening, coming around to score two runs alongside a home run, an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base. San Diego scored one in the second, four in the first, one in the fourth, and three in the sixth to win a game in which they never trailed.

SATURDAY (San Diego 9, Pacific 6): A late-game comeback earned the Toreros the win in game two, an effort that was bolstered by two hits apiece from junior catcher Caleb Ricketts, junior shortstop Cody Jefferis, junior utility player Max Jung-Goldberg, and graduate utility player RJ Teijeiro in addition to a towering go-ahead three-run homer in the top of the seventh from Meidroth. Sophomore lefty Brycen Mautz made his team-best 12th start on the mound and was relieved by graduate left-hander Ian Churchill, who threw 4.1 innings out of the bullpen while allowing three runs on two hits, walking one, and striking out six to earn his third win of 2022 and move to 3-2 on the year.

SUNDAY (San Diego 12, Pacific 5): San Diego pulled away late in what began as another back-and-forth affair, doing so courtesy of doubles from Meidroth, Sim, and sophomore utility player Jack Costello, a triple from Costello, and home runs from Ricketts and Jung-Goldberg. Sophomore righty Ivran Romero turned in the outing of the afternoon on the mound, firing a career-high 5.1 scoreless frames while allowing just three hits, walking none, and tying his career-high with seven strikeouts enroute to his third win of 2022 to move to 3-2.
