SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's soccer program (2-5-3, 0-0 WCC) will open the WCC portion of their schedule this weekend, traveling to No. 17 Pepperdine (6-1-2, 0-0 WCC) for a contest on Saturday at 12 p.m.

The Toreros continued to find success at home, securing a 1-1 draw with Northern Arizona on Sept. 25. Freshman
Leila Kahoano scored the first goal of her collegiate career, off assists from
Maronne Suzuki and
Ashley Wright.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- San Diego trails 11-18-2 in the all-time series against Pepperdine, but have lost the last seven meetings.
- The Toreros are 119-99-8 (.544) all-time in WCC play dating back to 1992.
- The two sides have faced several similar opponents, with Pepperdine drawing with LSU, while defeating San Diego State and Long Beach State.
- Saturday's matchup features two of the most prolific scoring freshmen in the WCC, as San Diego's Cameryn Maddox and Pepperdine's Tatum Wynalda (nine points in nine games) take the pitch.
- 14 of the 26 points (53.8%) tallied by the Toreros this season have come from a freshman. Maddox (six) and Josefine Schlichting (four) have been the leaders for the Toreros.
