LOS ANGELES — After winning a pair of home contests in decisive fashion and earning its fifth consecutive conference victory at the Jenny Craig Pavilion over the weekend, San Diego volleyball (9-6, 5-0 WCC) is set to resume West Coast Conference play on the road this week with a pair of matches at Loyola Marymount (12-4, 5-1 WCC) and San Francisco (8-10, 2-4 WCC).

The Toreros will kick off the trip on Thursday night with a 6:00 p.m. matchup against the Lions at Gersten Pavilion before continuing north to War Memorial Gym on Saturday afternoon to play the Dons at 1:00 p.m.

Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+, and live statistics will be available on LMULions.com and USFDons.com.

LAST TIME OUT - TWO MORE WCC WINS
• The Toreros hosted Santa Clara and Pacific last week and earned a pair of victories at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. USD defeated the Broncos by a  3-1 margin on Thursday and swept the Tigers in straight sets on Saturday.

• It was a festive homestand for the Toreros, with the team unveiling its 2022 Final Four Banner in the JCP ahead of Thursday's match before it welcomed back its former players for Alumni Weekend on Saturday afternoon.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5: San Diego 3, Santa Clara 1
• Against the Broncos, USD had four players with at least 10 kills, led by Kylie Pries, who recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Joining Pries with 11 kills was Amber Stivrins, while Haylee Stoner and Nemo Beach both recorded 10 kills.

• Defensively, Madi Allen recorded a team-high 12 digs while Stoner and Leyla Blackwell each recorded six total blocks.

• San Diego dominated Thursday's  first set, winning 25-12 to begin the match. Santa Clara took the second match 25-21 before the Toreros took the final two sets, 25-21 and 25-23. In the fourth set alone, there were 20 ties and nine lead changes.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7: San Diego 3, Pacific 0
• The Toreros continued their dominance in their match against Pacific, where they beat the Tigers 25-18 in set one, earned a 25-14 win in the second set and prevailed 25-21 in the third to keep their undefeated record in West Coast Conference play alive.

• Amber Stivrins, who recorded her 1,200th career point in the match, led the way for USD with a dozen kills and 14.5 points while Kylie Pries was just behind with 11 kills of her own. USD out-hit Pacific .263 to .099.

• Isadora Terçariol recorded a double-double with 13 digs and 28 sets. Just behind Terçariol in the digs category was Madi Allen, who recorded 10.

• As a team, USD hit at least 0.300 in the first two sets, en route to their third straight conference sweep against Pacific.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
• The Toreros are 49-41 against the Lions all-time, with the most recent meeting between the two teams coming on November 17, 2022, a thrilling five-set USD win at the Gersten Pavilion.

• Loyola Marymount also pushed San Diego to five sets in the teams' first matchup last year, a 3-2 USD win on September 24, 2022 in the JCP.

• San Diego has won each of its last four matches against LMU and 13 of its last 14 games against the Lions, with the last USD loss coming in Los Angeles in five sets during the spring 2020-21 COVID season on March 13, 2021.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAN FRANCISCO
• The Toreros are 61-18 all-time against the Dons, with the two teams' most recent meeting coming on November 5, 2022. San Diego has swept each of its last four matches opposite San Francisco.

• USD's last loss to the Dons was on Oct. 30, 2014 in the Bay Area, making it 16 consecutive Torero wins and 21 Torero victories in the two teams' last 22 matches heading into Saturday afternoon's action.

MILESTONE WATCH
• Leyla Blackwell is four total blocks away from 450 and 54 blocks away from reaching 500 in her career. She is also 49.5 points away from 900.

• Madi Allen, who has started the season with 15 consecutive games with at least 10 digs, is 18 away from 1,000 digs in her career. She is also 10 aces from reaching her 100th during her collegiate career.

• Isadora Terçariol is 99 assists away from 1,600 and 48 digs away from 400 in her career.

• Amber Stivrins, who is 53 kills away from 1,100 in her career, is also 42 aces away from 150.

• Head coach Jennifer Petrie has a 487-171 record as USD's head coach, leaving her it 13 victories away from 500 in her career.

TERÇARIOL NAMED WCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• On Monday, Isadora Terçariol was named the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

• Terçariol recorded 78 assists and four aces in last week's two matches against Santa Clara and Pacific to help the Toreros get to 5-0 in WCC action. Her 50 kills against Santa Clara was her second straight match of at least 50 assists after having 59 at Portland. Furthermore, Terçariol's 50 kills also came without a set error.

• Terçariol's second to last assist in the victory against Pacific was her 1,500th of her collegiate career. After recording 802 assists as a redshirt sophomore in 2021, Terçariol has 460 assists this season, making her on track to surpass her previous personal passing record.

• The redshirt senior setter also added four service aces in the win against Portland, which marked her second time this season with four aces in a single match.

• Terçariol is the second Torero in as many weeks and fourth USD volleyball player to receive Player of the Week honors as Kylie Pries received last week's offensive award. Earlier in the season, San Diego swept the WCC's Player of the Week honors when Amber Stivrins took home offensive honors and Leyla Blackwell was recognized for her defensive efforts on September 11.

LEYLA BLOCKS WELL
• San Diego native and La Jolla High School alum Leyla Blackwell ranks 14th nationally with an average of 1.41 blocks per set.

• Her 76 total blocks through 15 matches in 2023 is the most on the USD roster and ranks second in the WCC.

• Blackwell is a six-time WCC Defensive Player of the Week after earning the honor on September 11.
