SAN DIEGO – The San Diego men's soccer program (8-4-3, 2-1-1 WCC) is set for a matchup of the top teams in the WCC, traveling north to face Santa Clara (5-6-3, 3-0-1 WCC) on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros established themselves as the aggressor and led the way in possession and chances, but settled for a 0-0 draw with LMU on Wednesday night.
- San Diego's defense locked down the Lions, as Luis Ludosan made two saves for his fourth shutout of the season.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- San Diego is seeking to become the WCC's first repeat champion since Saint Mary's in 2018 and 2019.
- The Toreros currently stand in third place, just three points back of first-place Santa Clara.
- With just three regular season games remaining, the Toreros have an RPI of 33, as they make a push for a second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
- The Toreros rank 21st in the nation in total assists (31), while also ranking 48th in total points (77).
- In addition, the Toreros rank 28th nationally in assists per game (2.07) and 54th in points per game (5.13).
- San Diego already has 31 assists, far surpassing last season's mark, as the Toreros have spread the wealth between 14 players.
- The defense remains a strong point, as the team is anchored by reigning WCC Defender of the Year, Trevor Dillon.
- San Diego has registered six shutouts this season, after tallying seven last season.

- Mason Tunbridge now has 33 points in his last 36 games, dating back to Nov. 5, 2021 against Pacific.
- Tunbridge also ranks 42nd in the nation in assists (six).
