SAN DIEGO – San Diego men's soccer goalkeeper
Luis Ludosan has been named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week, as the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Â
It's the second such honor for Ludosan, after taking home the award in the first week of the season on Aug. 28. The Toreros have now won WCC Defensive Player of the Week honors four times this season.
Â
A native of Mannheim, Germany, Ludosan recently polished off a tremendous regular season with his career-high sixth shutout to secure a 1-0 win over Gonzaga and help San Diego clinch the WCC title. Ludosan tallied four saves and recorded his second consecutive shutout and third in his last four games.
Â
The 6'7" goalkeeper has been a giant for the Toreros this season, going 10-2-2 with a 0.94-goals against average and making 42 saves.
Â
Ludosan and the Toreros will open action in the 2023 NCAA Tournament at home, hosting California Baptist in the first round on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m., at Torero Stadium.
