SAN DIEGO — San Diego volleyball (14-9, 10-3 WCC) is set to continue West Coast Conference play this week with a pair of matches, hosting San Francisco (10-14, 4-8 WCC) at the Jenny Craig Pavilion before traveling up the coast to take on Pepperdine (16-6, 12-0 WCC) in Malibu.
The Toreros will get the week started with a 7 p.m. home game against the Dons on Thursday, then wrap up their week on Saturday with a 12 p.m. road contest opposite the Waves.
Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+, and live statistics will be available on USDToreros.com and PepperdineWaves.com.
LAST TIME OUT - ROAD WINS AT SANTA CLARA AND PACIFIC
• USD went 2-0 last week in a pair of road matches, sweeping the Broncos in Santa Clara before earning a hard-fought five-set win over Pacific in Stockton.
Thursday, November 2: San Diego 3, Santa Clara 0 (Leavey Center)
• The Toreros continued their domination over the Broncos last Thursday with a clean sweep, winning sets by scores of 25-17, 25-21, and 25-21 again. The victory marked their 18th in a row over Santa Clara.

Amber Stivrins played a pivotal role in San Diego's offense, boasting a .356 hitting percentage while also chipping in an assist and eight digs.
• Pries was a close second with 11 kills and an impressive team-high hitting percentage of .429. She also contributed an assist, a service ace, five digs, and a block.
• Tercariol stood out in the match with 39 assists and five blocks while adding 15 digs and a kill.
• Blackwell hit .369 as she added nine kills and four blocks.
Saturday, November 4: San Diego 3, Pacific 2 (Alex G. Spanos Center)
• USD demonstrated resilience in a thrilling five-set match against the Tigers last Saturday, securing 25-17 and 25-16 victories in the second and third sets before finishing with a decisive 15-4 win in the fifth and final frame.
• Beach and Blackwell delivered a total of 27 kills during the game.
• Blackwell's remarkable performance included an impressive season-high of 11 blocks, which earned her WCC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
• Pries showcased her serving skills by notching three service aces.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAN FRANCISCO
• The Toreros are 61-18 against the Dons all-time, and have won each of their last 17 matches against the Dons. USD and USF's most recent matchup was this October at War Memorial Gym, where the Toreros dominated in a 3-0 win.
• Stivrins led that match with 10 kills, and Blackwell followed closely behind with nine kills and a .476 hitting percentage. Beach hit .538 with 8 kills.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PEPPERDINE
• The Toreros are 36-43 against the Waves all-time, with the two teams' most recent meeting earlier this season on October 21, a tough 3-0 USD loss in the JCP.
• San Diego tested Pepperdine that afternoon, pushing the Waves in a hard-fought 26-24 loss in the first set before dropping 25-16 and 25-21 decisions in the second and third frames.
• Pries hit a team-high .290 as she added 10 digs to record her second double-double of the season.
• Stoner and Blackwell each totaled four blocks.
LEYLA BLACKWELL NAMED WCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Senior middle blocker
Leyla Blackwell has been named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week for November 6, the West Coast Conference announced on Monday afternoon.
• Blackwell led the San Diego defense in a pair of wins at Santa Clara and Pacific last week, totaling 15 blocks (1.88 B/S).
• She got things started with four blocks on Thursday night in a road sweep of the Broncos, then added 11 more (one solo) and six digs at Pacific in a five-set win over the Tigers.
• This is Blackwell's second WCC weekly award this season, the seventh of her USD career and the fifth overall in 2023 for the Toreros.

A HELPING HAND
• After not seeing any game action last season, Isadora Terçariol has emerged as the WCC's top setter in 2023, leading the conference with 10.19 assists per set through 23 matches that ranks 48th nationally .
• A native of Säo Paulo, Brazil, Terçariol joined the Toreros as a transfer before the pandemic-modified Spring 2021 season.
• She has since totaled 1,754 assists in a San Diego uniform, including a team-high 713 in 2023.
• The 1,500th assist of her career came in USD's 3-0 sweep of Pacific at the JCP on October 7.
• Terçariol was named WCC Offensive Player of the Week on October 9, making her the first San Diego setter to earn the honor since first-team All-American
Gabby Blossom was selected on November 7, 2022.
LEYLA BLOCKS WELL
• San Diego native and La Jolla High School alum
Leyla Blackwell ranks 21st nationally with an average of 1.34 blocks per set.
• Her 110 total blocks through 23 matches in 2023 are the most on the USD roster and rank second in the WCC.
• Blackwell has been named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week seven times in her career, including twice this season.
MILESTONE WATCH

Leyla Blackwell notched her 450th career block last Thursday at LMU and is now just 20 away from reaching 500 in her career. She is also just 74 career points away from 1,000.
Madi Allen, who has started the season with 15 consecutive games with at least 10 digs, earned her 1,000th career dig on October 14 at San Francisco. She is also just one ace away from notching her 100th during her collegiate career.
• Isadora Terçariol reached 1,500 assists on October 7 against Pacific. She now has 1,754 across three college seasons.
• Stivrins, a graduate transfer, is in her final college season.
