SAN DIEGO – The San Diego softball program (12-18-1, 0-0 WCC) wraps up their lengthy homestand with a doubleheader, hosting St. Thomas (7-18, 0-0 Summit) for two games on Wednesday at 3 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., at the USD Softball Complex.
 
LAST TIME OUT

• The Toreros polished off a Saturday sweep of Colgate and South Dakota, winning 8-5 and 6-4 decisions, respectively.  
• Joecellia Roberts tallied an inside the park grand slam for her second home run of the week, while Mikalyn Emanuelli finished with six hits across two games.
• The Toreros have matched their longest win streak of the season at three straight thanks to the doubleheader sweep.

 
OPPONENT HISTORY

• San Diego leads St. Thomas 1-0 in the all-time series, winning the lone meeting, 6-3, on Apr. 3, 1999 on the campus of UC San Diego.

 
WHAT TO WATCH FOR

• San Diego has already played in 11 games separated by one run or fewer this season, with several additional games featuring late-game, high leverage situations.
• Izzy Owen continues to tear the cover off the ball in the month of March, hitting .489 with 11 RBI and six doubles this month and has led the Toreros to a 9-4-1 record during that span.
• Emanuelli is on an eight game on-base streak and a seven-game hit streak, which are both career highs. Emanuelli is hitting .667 over the seven-game hit streak.
• The Toreros are 10-2 in games where they register two or more extra base hits.

• Madison Earnshaw (292) sits in sixth all-time in strikeouts at San Diego and needs 20 more to pass Colleen Norman (311) for fifth.
• Earnshaw also sits in a tie for sixth all-time in appearances with Jenny Lahitte with 101 appearances. Next up is Tiffany Wasilewski (104) in fifth.
• Taylor Johnson continues to draw hit-by-pitches at an enormous rate, ranking 17th in the nation and second in the WCC in hit-by-pitches per game (0.37). Johnson has been hit 11 times in 31 games.
• Owen ranks second in the WCC in hits (37) and ranks 25th nationally. Owen also ranks second in the WCC in batting average (.394).
