LOS ANGELES — San Diego volleyball (1-4, 0-0 WCC) is set to begin its longest road stretch of 2023 this weekend, traveling to the Galen Center to take on Marist (2-4, 0-0 MAAC), UC Davis (3-3, 0-0 Big West), and USC (1-4, 0-0 Pac-12) as part of the Trojan Invitational.

The Toreros will begin the tournament on Friday with a 4:30 p.m. matchup opposite the Red Foxes, followed by a 3:30 p.m. tilt against the Aggies, and a 2:00 p.m. finale on Sunday versus the Trojans.

Friday and Saturday's contests will be streamed live on the web through USC, while Sunday's match will be broadcast on Pac-12 Los Angeles. Live statistics for all three matches will be available on USCTrojans.com.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST MARIST
• Friday afternoon's match will mark the first-ever volleyball contest between the Toreros and Red Foxes.

• USD and Marist both compete in the Pioneer Football League (PFL), a NCAA Division I-AA football conference comprised of non-scholarship programs across the country.

• Torero football is a dominant 15-0 all-time against the Red Foxes dating back to 2003.

• USD football will travel to Poughkeepsie, New York on October 14 for a matchup with Marist at Tenney Stadium as it vies for its 13th PFL championship, which would set a league record.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST UC DAVIS
• Saturday afternoon's match will mark the first-ever volleyball contest between the Toreros and Aggies.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST USC
• The Toreros are 4-12 all-time against the Trojans but have won each of the programs' last three matchups dating back to 2018.

• The two teams last faced off on September 17, 2021, with USD earning a gritty, five-set comeback win at Galen Center.

• Then ranked No. 21 nationally, USD jumped out to a 1-0 lead after taking the first set by a score of 25-22, then dropped the ensuing two sets by 25-20 and 25-13 margins. San Diego then took down USC by scores of 25-19 and 15-13 to secure the 3-2 decision.

LAST TIME OUT
• San Diego earned its first win of the season last time out against Boston College (September 2), closing out the USD Invitational at the Jenny Craig Pavilion with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles.

• USD dropped the first set by a score of 25-18 before prevailing in three straight sets (25-10, 25-18, and 25-20) to beat Boston College.

• Leyla Blackwell led the match with season-high 16 kills while hitting .297, marking the second-most of her USD career. Her six block assists on Saturday night were tied for the match-high.

• Kylie Pries was just behind with a season-high 14 kills of her own, also adding three block assists and 13 digs, which were just one shy of the USD lead.

• Amber Stivrins totaled 12 kills, three service aces, five digs, and a block assist.

• Isadora Terçariol set a season high in assists (47) for the second consecutive match, falling just two assists short of her career high (49).

• Her four service aces on Saturday marked a career-high.

• Madi Allen and Tercariol were tied for the team lead in digs, with the duo both posting 14 of them.

• Olivia Bennett notched her sixth and seventh service aces of the season, tying her with Haylee Stoner for the team lead.

• Maya Kitna played in all four sets and recorded the first kill, dig and block assist of her college career, ultimately finishing with three of each.

ACED IT
• USD's 11 total service aces against Boston College were a team season high and the Toreros' most since October 15, 2022, when they notched 12 at Saint Mary's.

• Terçariol, Stivrins, and Bennett all recorded multiple service aces last Saturday, including a career-high four from Terçariol.

• Stivrins and Bennett both recorded service aces on back-to-back points against the Eagles.

A MOTHER-DAUGHTER MOMENT
• Last Saturday's matchup between San Diego and Boston College in the Jenny Craig Pavilion was more than just the finale of the USD Invitational — it included a moment a lifetime in the making.

• Junior Boston College setter Jane Petrie is the daughter of USD head coach Jennifer Petrie, and sealed the first set for the Eagles with a service ace before the Toreros rallied for a 3-1 win.

• Petrie, the 2022 AVCA National Coach of the Year, hosted BC for a team dinner earlier in the week and took a picture with her daughter and the rest of the Boston College team on the court following the match.
