SAN DIEGO – San Diego volleyball (6-6, 1-1 WCC) hosts Pacific (10-4, 0-2 WCC) and Oregon State (3-9, 1-1 WCC) this weekend as it returns to the Jenny Craig Pavilion for the first time in 19 days to play its first home West Coast Conference games of the 2024 season.

The matchup against the Tigers will begin on Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by a matchup with the Beavers on Saturday at 12 p.m. Both of USD's matches this week will be streamed live on ESPN+ with David Gentile on the calls, and live statistics will be available on USDToreros.com. Thursday and Saturday will mark the Toreros' annual Alumni Weekend, with the 2004 USD Sweet 16 team set to be honored during the weekend finale.

LAST TIME OUT - WIN STREAK ENDS IN PULLMAN
• San Diego dropped a 3-1 decision at Washington State on Saturday afternoon, snapping a four-match, 12-set Torero win streak as it faced the Cougars for the first time as a member of the West Coast Conference.

• WSU won the first set 25-22 before USD cruised to a 25-15 victory in the second. The Cougars responded by taking the final two frames by scores of 25-23 and 25-20.

• The loss put a sour end to what had otherwise been a highly successful five-game road stint for the Toreros. San Diego swept all three matches at a multi-team event hosted by LSU last weekend and began conference play on Thursday night with another dominant sweep at Gonzaga. Before falling in its opening frame at Bohler Gym, USD had not lost a set since September 14, when it was defeated by No. 12 Oregon at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

• Nemo Beach and Isabel Clark headlined the Toreros' efforts last Saturday afternoon, notching 11 kills apiece while hitting .119 and .385, respectively. Haylee Stoner continued her midseason surge, totaling eight kills at a strong .462 clip alongside four digs, three blocks (one solo), two service aces, and two assists. Madi Allen added another 13 digs to go with three assists and a pair of service aces.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. PACIFIC
• The Toreros are 21-1 against the Tigers all-time, with the two programs' last meeting coming in November of 2023, when USD beat UOP 3-2 in San Diego.

• The Toreros have swept the Tigers a total of 13 times since their first matchup in 1976.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. OREGON STATE
• The Toreros are 2-2 against the Beavers all-time, with the two programs' last meeting coming in September of 2018, when the OSU beat then-ranked No. 23 USD 3-2.

• USD and OSU's last meeting prior to that came back in 2015, when the Toreros defeated the Beavers 3-1.
Saturday will mark the Beavers' first matchup with the Toreros as members of the WCC.

JENNIFER PETRIE REACHES 500-WIN MILESTONE IN SPOKANE
• USD head coach Jennifer Petrie earned her 500th career win with USD's 3-0 sweep of Gonzaga last Thursday in Spokane. She will be recognized before the Toreros' matchup against the Tigers on Thursday evening at the JCP

• Petrie is one of just 18 active NCAA Division I volleyball head coaches with 500 wins or more and is just the third head coach of any USD program to reach 500 wins.

• She is also the 17th-winningest active D1 head volleyball coach by percentage (.738).

• Of that 17-coach group, Petrie has the eighth-most career wins.

• Overall, she is the 29th-winningest active D1 WVB coach by total victories.

• The only other USD head coaches to reach the 500-win milestone are former baseball skippers John Cunningham (843-839-18) and Rich Hill (1079-738-4).

HISTORIC 2004 TEAM RECOGNIZED FOR ALUMNI WEEKEND
• The 2004 USD volleyball team will be recognized at the Jenny Craig Pavilion during the Toreros' matchup against the Beavers on Saturday afternoon, celebrating their magical postseason run that in many ways set the standard for the program moving forward.

• Through the first-ever undefeated conference record in program history, this Torero squad clinched the 2004 WCC Championship with 14 wins and 0 losses.

• By the end of the regular season, the team reached their highest national ranking of the season at No. 13 overall.

• After earning the No. 9 overall seed in the NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament, the Toreros hosted the first two rounds of competition at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

• With a 3-0 sweep of New Mexico State (30-19, 30-27, 30-24) and a 3-2 victory versus Arizona (30-28, 30-28, 25-30, 27-30, 15-13), the Toreros reached the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history. The Toreros' remarkable 2004 season ended in a 3-1 loss to eventual national champion USC in Louisville, Kentucky.
