Women's Basketball Signs Five Student-Athletes for 2025-26 Season

SAN DIEGO – Head coach Cindy Fisher and the San Diego women's basketball program are proud to announce their five student-athlete 2025-26 signing class on Saturday morning. The Toreros added top talent from all over the West that will make an immediate impact when they arrive on campus.

The USD signees are as follows: Jessica Ajayi, Ryanne Bahansen-Price, Olivia Owens, Isabella Von Seipler and Ayla Williams

Ajayi, is a guard from Kent, Washington that averaged 19.6 PPG, 9.6 rebounds per game and 3.4 steals per game during her prep career at Kentwood High School. Jessica was named to the All-Conference First Team and was an All-Defensive Team selection during her sophomore season. Her older brother, Michael has experience in the WCC as he began his collegiate career at Pepperdine before transferring to Gonzaga where he was an All-WCC First Team selection.

"I am so excited to announce the signing of Jessica Ajayi," San Diego head coach Cindy Fisher said. "Jessica is a very talented combo guard who represents everything we want in our student-athletes. Jessica's basketball talents run deep, she is very good off the bounce and very crafty with her ball. She will be able to swing between the point guard and off guard position. She is going to continue to help us grow in our transition game and in our defensive efforts. Jessica is a fantastic student and is going to be very successful at USD. We are so thrilled to welcome her and her family to the Torero program."

Williams joins the Torero program following a tremendous prep career that was split between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Basketball is in her genes as her mother, Natalie was a volleyball and basketball player at UCLA and went on to win two world championships and a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics. She also put together a nine year career in the WNBA, as she played for both the Indiana Fever and Utah Starzz.

"We are thrilled to add Ayla to our USD women's basketball program," Fisher said. "Ayla is a tremendous athlete who is going to be able to help us in the post immediately. She is a rebounding machine and somebody who wants to go in there and play with a lot of tenacity and grit. Ayla has always impressed with how hard she plays and how well she communicates. We are excited to add Ayla to our roster and have her bring those qualities to our program. Ayla is a big personality, a wonderful student and is going to fit in at USD very well. We are thrilled to add her and her family to the USD women's basketball family."

Williams is an accomplished student-athlete as she won her school's scholar-athlete award three times in high school and made the honor roll every year of high school. Ranking in the top six percent of her high school class, she earned a 4.6 weighted GPA. Ayla plans to study English with a minor in communications at USD, and is fluent in French.

Bahnsen-Price will be a wonderful addition to the Toreros after signing out of Erie, Colorado. A 6'0" guard/forward that has been a First Team All-Conference pick her first three years of high school, Bahnsen-Price brings a winning mentality to San Diego as she's won back-to-back state championships.

"Ryanne is a very exciting versatile guard," Fisher said. "Her ability to play inside and out as as well as stretch the defense is going to make her very successful at the next level. I love Ryanne's work ethic and her leadership skills. We are excited to add someone with such high character to our program. Ryanne is a great student and we are so happy to welcome her and her family to our USD family."

Throughout her high school career, Bahnsen-Price averaged 12.4 PPG, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. She plans to pursue a degree in biology when she arrives on campus this fall. An accomplished flag football player as well, Ryanne was a First Team flag football selection and won her team's offensive MVP award. She enjoys giving back to her community as she serves as an assistant coach for both youth basketball and flag football teams. A member of her school's Honor Roll every semester of high school, Bahnsen-Price intends to study engineering upon arriving at USD.

Joining the squad from Northern California, Von Seipler arrives on campus after a standout prep career at Del Oro High School in Rocklin. A point guard for both her club and high school team, Von Seipler won the MVP award at both the 2022 West Park Holiday Classic and the 2023 We Got Next Labor Day showcase.

"Bella is a tremendous athlete who is capable of playing any position on the perimeter," Fisher said. "Bella's defensive intensity and her tenacity on both ends of the floor will really help her transition to the next level. Bella's best basketball is ahead of her, she's an excellent student who takes a lot of pride in everything that she does. USD is going to be a great fit for her in every way. We are thrilled to add her and her family to our USD basketball family."

Not just excelling on the basketball court in her prep career, Bella was a First Team All-League selection in flag football, and was named her school's MVP. Doing tremendous work in her community as well, Von Seipler has spent her time volunteering to serve as a coach for youth basketball and flag football teams.

Rounding out the class is Owens who excelled in four sports during her high school career at Phoenix Country Day School. Olivia's coming off a high school junior season that saw her average 20.4 PPG, 9.7 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 4.3 assists which helped her team earn a second consecutive 2A State Championship.

"We are thrilled to add Olivia to our USD basketball family," Fisher said. "Olivia is a very explosive, talented three level scorer, with the ability to play any position on the perimeter. Her defensive intensity is going to help us continue to be a dominant defensive force in the West Coast Conference. Olivia is an excellent student, an incredibly creative person and we are so happy to welcome her and her family to our women's basketball program."
