SAN DIEGO – The San Diego softball program (0-5, 0-0 WCC) returns home for a packed week of softball, that begins with hosting San Diego State (2-2, 0-0 MWC) on Wednesday at 5 p.m., at the USD Softball Complex.

From there, the Toreros will welcome Colorado State (3-2, 0-0 MWC), Eastern Illinois (5-0, 0-0 OVC), Long Island (2-3, 0-0 NEC) and Southern Utah (4-1, 0-0 WAC) for the Torero Classic from Feb. 15 to Feb. 18.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros completed a grueling stretch at the Stacy Winsberg Tournament in Los Angeles, Calif., by nearly pulling off a wild, seven-run comeback against then No. 10 UCLA, before falling to then No. 8 Texas.
- Down 7-0 after four innings, the Toreros rallied on the offensive end for their best offensive performance ever against a top-10 team, beginning with a two-run home run from Michelle Delgado and an additional two RBI from Emma Giaime.

OPPONENT HISTORY
- San Diego trails 7-46 in the all-time series against San Diego State, but won the last meeting in a 4-0 win on Mar. 3, 2023.
- The Toreros are 1-0 against Long Island, winning the lone meeting back in 2020.
- San Diego is 13-8 overall against Southern Utah in the lengthy all-time series and have won the last three matchups.
- The Toreros are meeting Eastern Illinois for the first time since 2005 and lead 2-0 in the all-time series.
- San Diego is 3-5 against Colorado State, but has won the last three including a 2-1 win in 2022 behind an Arisa Tovar RBI.

- The Toreros have their most All-WCC Preseason honorees since 2017 and the most under head coach MJ Knighten.
- Mikalyn Emanuelli, Emma Giaime and Amanda Limon all earned preseason honors for the first time in their career.
- In addition, the Toreros were picked to finish in a tie for second in the WCC preseason poll.
- The Toreros freshman class is off to a strong start in their first few weeks in college softball.
- Tele Jennings led all qualified Toreros in batting average, while Delgado hit the team's first home run against UCLA.
