SAN DIEGO – The San Diego softball program (3-12, 0-0 WCC) returns home following competition at the Mary Nutter Classic to host CSUN (11-3, 0-0 Big West), Cal State Bakersfield (2-11, 0-0 Big West) and UNLV (7-6, 0-0 MWC) for the San Diego Tournament from Mar. 1 to Mar. 3 at the USD Softball Complex.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros went 1-4 at the highly competitive Mary Nutter Classic, finishing the event with an 8-7 walk-off win over UC Riverside on Feb. 25.
- After a sluggish opening day, the Toreros offense came alive, scoring eight runs against No. 24 Northwestern and averaging 6.3 runs per game over their last three contests.
- Arisa Tovar shined, hitting .438 with one home run and three RBI in her second consecutive year of hitting over .400 at the Mary Nutter Classic.

- San Diego is 8-6 in the all-time series against CSUN and are winners of three straight, including a 4-0 over the Matadors on Apr. 19 of last season.
- San Diego is 3-10 all-time against UNLV and are looking to snap a five-game skid in the series.
- San Diego is 26-15 in the lengthy all-time series against Cal State Bakersfield and are meeting for the first time since 2020.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Carly Ruiz enters the weekend on a six-game hitting streak and seven-game on-base streak, which is good for the longest streak of her career and by a Torero so far this season.
- The Toreros are averaging 11 hits per game and 6.3 runs per game over their last three games.
- San Diego is 5-1 in their last six games against the Big West Conference.
- Joecellia Roberts became the first Torero to 10 RBI, doing it in just 15 games. She didn't reach that mark until Mar. 14 of last season.
- The Toreros freshman class continues to roll in their first few weeks in college softball.
- Tele Jennings leads the team in doubles (five) and extra-base hits (five) while Michelle Delgado hit a home run against then No. 10 UCLA.
- In addition, redshirt freshman Ruiz leads the team with a .364 batting average.
