SAN DIEGO – The San Diego softball program (7-21, 0-0 WCC) continues their lengthy homestand this weekend, hosting Rutgers (15-10, 0-0 Big Ten) for a three-games series at the USD Softball Complex.

The Toreros will face the Scarlet Knights at 6 p.m., on Thursday, 4 p.m., on Friday and 3 p.m., on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros earned a Tuesday night doubleheader split with Harvard, winning game one 3-2 and falling 5-4 in game two.
- While game one was won behind timely base running, an RBI single from Amanda Limon and a gem from Courtney Rose, game two was highlighted by four doubles as a team and six sensational innings of relief from Emma Giaime, who tallied 10 strikeouts, which was the most by a Torero in a relief appearance in 11 years.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Tele Jennings (nine) and Taylor Johnson (nine) both stand at the top of the single-season doubles leaders through the first 28 games of the season. The program record in a single season is 18, set by Lindsey Fleet in 2008.
- Johnson has been scorching hot at the plate in March, hitting .432 (16-for-37) with six doubles and five RBI.
- Joecellia Roberts became the first Torero to 10 RBI, doing it in just 15 games. She didn't reach that mark until Mar. 14 of last season.
- The Toreros freshman class continues to roll in their first few weeks in college softball.
- Jennings leads the team in doubles, extra-base hits (nine) and walks (11) while Michelle Delgado ranks in the top-three on the team in RBI and leads the team in stolen bases (six) this season.
- The Torero outfield has developed a strong reputation on defense this season, as Jennings, Mikalyn Emanuelli and Carly Ruiz have a combined eight outfield assists after just one combined assist by Torero outfielder's last season.

- Courtney Rose stands at 293 strikeouts and needs 18 to match Colleen Norman for sixth on the Toreros all-time strikeout list.
- In addition, Rose stands in a tie for fourth on the Toreros all-time appearances list (112) and needs one more to pass Madison Earnshaw.
- San Diego leads the WCC in doubles (34) and ranks 55th nationally.
- In addition, Jennings and Johnson lead the conference and ranks 18th nationally in doubles (nine).
- Arisa Tovar (seven) and Shawnese Hogue-Lacy (five) rank first and second in the WCC in runners caught stealing. Tovar stands at 14th nationally, while Hogue-Lacy ranks 62nd.
