SAN DIEGO – The San Diego softball program (8-23, 0-0 WCC) welcomes another non-conference opponent for a three-game set, hosting Weber State (10-14, 0-0 Big Sky) on Friday and Saturday at the USD Softball Complex.

The Toreros will open with a doubleheader at 3 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., on Friday, before the series finale on Saturday at 10 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros picked up their highest NET ranking victory of the season, but dropped two out of three games to Rutgers last weekend.
- Amanda Limon shined over series, hitting .333 with two RBI to improve to hits in seven straight games.
- Courtney Rose also was highly successful in the circle, pitching in all three games, including a hitless appearance in a game one win.

- San Diego is 5-3 all-time against Weber State, but dropped the last meeting back on Mar. 12, 2022.
- Rose struck out seven over seven innings in the last meeting, while Limon and Joecellia Roberts each tallied hits.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Taylor Johnson (11) and Tele Jennings (10) both stand at the top of the single-season doubles leaders through the first 31 games of the season. The program record in a single season is 18, set by Lindsey Fleet in 2008.
- Johnson has been scorching hot at the plate in March, hitting .422 (19-for-45) with eight doubles and six RBI.
- The Torero outfield has developed a strong reputation on defense this season, as Jennings, Mikalyn Emanuelli and Carly Ruiz have a combined eight outfield assists after just one combined assist by Torero outfielder's last season.
- Limon continues to serve as the defensive leader of the team, while climbing the Toreros all-time assists list. Limon stands in eighth all-time (344) and is one away from Celeste Soto (345) for seventh.

- Courtney Rose stands at 299 strikeouts and needs 12 to match Colleen Norman for sixth on the Toreros all-time strikeout list.
- In addition, Rose stands alone in third on the Toreros all-time appearances list (115) and needs two more to match Jennifer Ellenbeck.
- San Diego leads the WCC in doubles (37) and ranks 71st nationally.
- In addition, Johnson and Jennings rank first and second in the conference, while ranking 13th and 26th nationally, respectively.
- Arisa Tovar (seven) and Shawnese Hogue-Lacy (five) rank first and second in the WCC in runners caught stealing. Tovar stands at 33rd nationally, while Hogue-Lacy ranks 97th.
