SAN DIEGO – Fresh off a doubleheader split with Arizona State, the San Diego softball program (10-26, 0-0 WCC) heads out on the road for a three-game series at New Mexico State (18-12, 6-3 CUSA).

The series will open with a doubleheader on Friday at 12 and 2 p.m., before the series finale on Saturday at 11 a.m., at the NM State Softball Complex.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros earned a hard-fought split of a doubleheader against Arizona State, winning game one 7-4 and falling 3-2 in nine innings in game two, securing their first top-75 NET ranking win of the season.
- The top three in the batting order for San Diego batted a sizzling .542 with a home run, three doubles and six RBI across the doubleheader, as Amanda Limon, Joecellia Roberts and Taylor Johnson all remained red-hot.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- Johnson (13) and Tele Jennings (11) both stand at the top of the single-season doubles leaders through the first 36 games of the season. The program record in a single season is 18, set by Lindsey Fleet in 2008.
- Johnson has been scorching hot at the plate in March, hitting .436 (27-for-62) with 10 doubles and nine RBI.
- Roberts enters the weekend on a stretch of four-straight games with two or more hits.
- Johnson and Limon both enter the weekend on 12-game on-base streaks, while Limon holds a 12-game hitting streak.
- The Torero outfield has developed a strong reputation on defense this season, as Jennings, Mikalyn Emanuelli and Carly Ruiz have a combined eight outfield assists after just one combined assist by Torero outfielder's last season.
- Limon continues to serve as the defensive leader of the team, while climbing the Toreros all-time assists list. Limon stands in seventh all-time (353) and needs 24 to pass Kathleen Bonja (376) for sixth.
