Mike Nicholson Promoted to Associate Head Coach

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego men's soccer program has announced the promotion of its longest tenured member, as Mike Nicholson has been promoted to associate head coach.

"It is with sincere excitement I wish to announce that coach Nicholson has been promoted to associate head coach for men's soccer," said head coach Brian Quinn. "His contributions over the past 20 years at USD have been invaluable to the program both on and off the field. His involvement in all aspects of the program have helped us continue to grow and improve and become one of the leading teams within the WCC on a yearly basis. I also wanted to thank our Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Athletics Kimya Massey for endorsing coach Nicholson's promotion."

A part of the program since 2005, beginning under former head coach Seamus McFadden, Nicholson has been instrumental in the development of the program alongside Quinn.

Nicholson and the Toreros have won back-to-back WCC titles in their last two seasons and earned the right to host the opening round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Under Nicholson's tenure, the Toreros have developed countless All-WCC players and several All-American performers, including Mason Tunbridge, who became the program's eighth All-American back in December.

The Toreros are set to begin action in the 2024 regular season in late August.
