CORVALLIS, Ore. – Returning to the pitch with a West Coast Conference title on the line, the No. 7 San Diego men's soccer team (12-2-3, 6-1-1 WCC) are heading up to the Pacific Northwest to face off with the No. 10 Oregon State Beavers (10-3-2, 6-0-2 WCC) on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. from Paul Lorenz Field.
USD will be seeking a WCC record fourth consecutive WCC crown when they take on the Beavers for all of the marbles. Oregon State enters play one point ahead of the Toreros in the conference standings as the Beavers just need a tie to secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
LAST TIME OUT: TOREROS BEST GONZAGA TO SECURE UNBEATEN HOME SEASON
- USD continued their stellar run by completing the team's regular season home schedule with a 1-0 knockout of Gonzaga on Senior Night, as the Toreros honored 12 graduating athletes who have been key pieces during the team's run of success.
- Iain Wagner delivered one of the key plays from last Saturday's match as he headed in a fantastic goal after a great feed from Devin Zachry that put San Diego ahead early in the second half.
- The Torero defense was once again on point as they secured their fifth consecutive shutout as they held the Bulldogs to just five shots for the game, all coming in the second half.
- Lucca Adams put together another brilliant performance in goal for USD as he recorded a pair of massive saves and earned his eighth clean sheet of the season in his 12 matches played.
SCOUTING THE BEAVERS
- Oregon State enters Saturday night's match with a 10-3-2 overall record to go along with their 6-0-2 mark in WCC play, as they currently are first in conference and ranked 10th in the United Soccer Coaches poll. The Beavers posted a 4-3-0 record leading into conference play, and have yet to lose a WCC match and have earned a draw just once this season in a 1-1 result against in-state foe Portland.
- The Beavers' offense has been led this season by reigning WCC midfielder of the year Arnau Farnos, who leads Oregon State in goals with 14 and is tied for the team lead in assists with seven. He has appeared and started in every game for the Beavers this season, and has netted three separate braces, with his latest coming in that 6-0 blowout win against Santa Clara.
- In goal, sophomore John Nicolson has appeared and started in every game for the Beavers this season, playing every single minute of each game. He has recorded four clean sheets on the season, recorded 31 saves and assisted a goal in his team's blowout 6-0 win over Santa Clara.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
- USD's offensive attack has once again emerged as one of the most potent on the West Coast thanks in part to the team's strong depth with 10 different student-athletes scoring goals this season.
- Wagner has led the way for San Diego during his sophomore campaign with seven, while Steven Ramirez has scored six times and Cesar Bahena has totaled five goals in 2025.
- Always looking for an opportunity to find the back of the net, the Toreros currently lead all WCC programs with 243 shots totaled in their first 17 matches of the season.
ROAD TESTED
- San Diego has put together a 3-2-1 overall record on the road this season as they picked up key road victories over Denver, San Diego State and Saint Mary's during the team's quest for a four-peat.
- Saturday night's match will be the first time San Diego has ever competed in Corvallis as all five of the previous meetings have taken place in sunny San Diego.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST OREGON STATE
- Saturday night's matchup in Corvallis will be only the sixth ever matchup and the last game of the regular season for USD, as San Diego leads the all-time series 4-1-0, including winning its first three matchups in the late 1990's. This is the last regular season match OSU will compete in as a member of the WCC.
- In 2024, the Toreros earned a crucial 2-0 victory in a mid-season showdown at home that helped propel the Toreros to their third straight conference title. In the 17th minute defender Ethan Warne assisted Samy Kanaan who placed a perfect shot into the bottom corner for a goal. Two minutes later, Cesar Bahena earned a penalty kick for the Toreros that Kanaan then buried in to give him a brace in less than 20 minutes putting USD ahead for good. Donovan Parisian recorded his third clean sheet of the season and posted three saves as well to shore up the Torero defense.
