SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — After making history and winning their fourth consecutive West Coast Conference crown, the San Diego men's soccer program is proud to announce a whole host of recipients for all conference awards as announced by the league on Tuesday morning.
Leading the way, San Diego head coach won his second consecutive WCC coach of the year award, while graduate student defender
Ethan Warne took home the league's defensive player of the year award. Wrapping up USD's strong run of conference awards, redshirt freshman goalkeeper
Lucca Adams was named the goalkeeper of the year.
Joining the Toreros in receiving acclaim for the conference:
Iain Wagner was selected to the All-WCC First Team,
Cesar Bahena,
Noah James and
Steven Ramirez were named to the All-WCC Second Team and the trio of
Vicente Ayala,
Josh Martinez and
Owen Walz were named All-WCC Honorable Mentions.
Quinn, earned his third ever WCC Coach of the Year award as his Toreros put together another 13 win campaign as USD played one of the nation's toughest schedules and lost just twice during the regular season. Following another fantastic campaign, Quinn improved his overall record as head coach to 71-44-23, and his record in WCC play now sits at 35-16-8 in his eight seasons as the helm of the Torero program.
With Quinn's third WCC Coach of the Year award, Quinn now ranks just behind his mentor and former San Diego head coach Seamus McFadden as Torero head coaches to win the award multiple times. McFadden won nine times during his tenure, which is the most since the conference introduced the award in 1988.
Warne, made the most of his final season of NCAA eligibility as he once again remained a force in the Torero back line that allowed the second fewest goals in the WCC. Playing the entire 90 minutes in 16 of the 17 matches he competed in, Warne has been an iron man for USD and served as team captain throughout the 2025 season.
Doing whatever was needed for his team throughout the grueling season, Warne played 1,511 and will surpass 5,000 total minutes on the pitch as a Torero during USD's second round NCAA Tournament match scheduled for Sunday, November 23 at Torero Stadium.
Capping off his tremendous San Diego career, Warne was also named to the All-WCC First Team for the second time in as many seasons.
Adams, had a phenomenal debut collegiate season after transferring in from UCLA making 13 starts in goal for San Diego and recording eight total clean sheets to help the Toreros win a fourth consecutive conference title.
A two-time WCC defensive player of the week selection during the 2025 regular season, Adams recorded 18 saves and recorded a microscopic 0.47 goals against average to go along with just six goals allowed which ranked best in the WCC.
Adams posted a season-high four saves in a crucial road shutout victory over Saint Mary's, and recorded a pair of key saves to help USD take down Oregon State in the regular season finale to capture the league title. Receiving tons of praise for his stellar season, Adams was picked to the All-WCC First Team and All-WCC Freshman Team as well.
Providing an immediate spark in his second season,
Wagner was chosen to the conference's All-WCC First Team after scoring a team-high eight goals and 20 total points as he played in all 18 matches and made 14 starts.
Iain had two games this season where he recorded both a goal and an assist in victories over both LMU and Oregon State in the regular season finale. Wagner got off to a quick start as he scored San Diego's lone goal in the team's season-opening match at then No. 15 Duke.
Getting stronger as the season went along, Wagner played the full 90 minutes in matches against Gonzaga and Oregon State as his first half goal equalized the match in the Toreros' take down of the Beavers on the road.
Bahena, remained a force in the Torero attack as he caps off his collegiate career by making an All-WCC team for the fourth time. Cesar was named to the All-WCC Freshman Team (2022), All-WCC Second Team (2023 and 2025) and the All-WCC First Team (2024) during his phenomenal USD career as he helped San Diego reach the NCAA Tournament every year.
Collecting a pair of braces this season, Bahena found the back of the net twice in home matches against both San Francisco and LMU as he started in all 18 of USD's matches in 2025.
One of the match dangerous strikers in the conference this season, Bahena ranked third in the WCC with 47 total shots and did a great job setting up his teammates as he was tied for second on the Toreros with four assists.
James, made an immediate impact in his return to his hometown after beginning his collegiate career with two seasons at Western Michigan. A huge force in the San Diego midfield, Noah started all 18 matches and ranked second on the Toreros with 1,563 minutes played.
Coming through as the hero in San Diego's most thrilling victory of the season, James recorded a brace with two goals in the final 10 minutes as the Toreros defeated California Baptist 3-2 at the buzzer. With the clock ticking away late, James' headed in a ball off a corner kick past the Lancers' keeper as USD earned a thrilling, improbable comeback victory at home.
The Poway native recorded four key assists as he excelled in the middle of USD's attack picking up a big assist in San Diego's conference-clinching road victory at Oregon State.
Ramirez, had a stellar season in the Torero attack as he makes his third career All-WCC team as he was named to the freshman team (2023), an honorable mention (2024) and now makes his debut on the All-WCC Second Team after scoring seven goals to rank second on San Diego during the 2025 season.
Steven played in 17 matches for the Toreros and made 12 starts during the 2025 season as he contributed both a goal and an assist in a home victory over UC Santa Barbara.
Delivering in a big way in a key conference match for his team, Ramirez recorded a brace in San Diego's 3-0 victory over the newest WCC foe Seattle U back in mid-October. He also delivered one of the highlights of USD's 2025 season when he scored the game-sealing goal in the Toreros' 4-2 conference clinching victory against Oregon State.
Ayala, overcame an early season injury and returned to immediately settle in the Torero midfield as he was named to his fourth career All-WCC team as he was an All-WCC Freshman and was selected as an All-WCC Honorable Mention for the third time in his collegiate career.
Vicente competed in 15 matches and made 14 starts totaling 960 minutes played in 2025 as he picked up his fourth assist in San Diego's 5-1 route of San Francisco in the home conference opener.
Martinez, put together a fantastic 2025 season as he played in all 18 of his team's games and made 16 starts in his final collegiate year as he was named an All-WCC Honorable Mention for the second time in his career.
Scoring his first two goals of his collegiate career in 2025, Josh excelled at free kicks burying one against USF, and then came through with the game-winning goal in the Toreros' conference clinching victory over Oregon State.
Coming through in the clutch in San Diego's victory over CBU at home, Martinez delivered a strong corner kick to James that set up the game winning goal as time was expiring.
Rounding out the USD selections,
Walz led the Toreros with 1,575 minutes played as he started in all 15 matches during his Torero career as he earns his first career All-WCC Honorable Mention nod.
Owen played a key role in USD's road upset victory of then No. 21 Denver as he scored the match-tying goal for his first goal as a Torero back in the first month of the season.
