SAN DIEGO – The West Coast Conference announced the 2025 men's soccer All-Academic selections on Thursday afternoon as USD sophomore midfielder Iain Wagner earned All-WCC Academic Team recognition for his fantastic season on the field and his strong work in the classroom.

Seven other USD student-athletes were named as All-WCC Academic Honorable Mentions with Vicente Ayala, Luca Fava, Taj Eagleston, Volodymyr Kubrakov, Josh Martinez, Steven Ramirez and Oliver Rhoades all earning recognition from the conference. 

This is the second time in their USD careers that Ayala, Martinez and Rhoades have earned acclaim for their work in the classroom from the WCC. 

Wagner, is a sophomore studying both finance and real estate as the San Diego native led the Toreros with eight goals this season and was named to the All-WCC First Team earlier this week. 

To be considered, a student-athlete must have maintained at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to their team and in at least their second year at their school.

USD men's soccer will continue their 2025 season later this week as they will host the winner of Grand Canyon and UCLA's first round NCAA Tournament match on Sunday, November 23 at 5:00 p.m. from Torero Stadium. To purchase tickets for Sunday's NCAA Tournament match, please click here.
