ORANGE COUNTY — Following a pair of tremendous first place finishes in her team's most recent meet, San Diego swim and dive sophomore Sydney Wilson has been named The Big West's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season.
Wilson helped lead USD to a strong team performance against both Chapman and Fresno Pacific as she recorded a time of 5:09.42 in the 500 freestyle, and followed that up with a 2:10.12 time in the 200 individual medley. She finished with the top overall time in each stroke during last Saturday's meet.
The Portland, Oregon native has been tremendous for her squad since arriving on campus ahead of the 2025-26 season, as the team has now reached the midpoint of their season.
USD now looks forward to their next meet of the season after the new year as they will be taking on Vanderbilt on Friday, January 2 at 10:00 a.m from the Aztec Aquaplex on the San Diego State campus.
