SAN DIEGO – With the 2025 NCAA men's soccer season just around the corner, the San Diego Toreros men's soccer team has been ranked as the No. 10 team in the nation by the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll on Friday morning.
USD enters the season looking to build off last year's phenomenal campaign that saw the Toreros reach the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament and the No. 3 overall ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Toreros posted a 15-3-2 overall record as they posted an impressive 7-1 mark in West Coast Conference play and earned NCAA Tournament victories over both UC Davis and Duke.
San Diego returns the core of last season's team as they seek a fourth consecutive WCC regular season championship, and to build off last season's deep postseason run.
The Toreros will begin their season in mid-August as they will host UNLV for a free scrimmage on Friday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Torero Stadium.
San Diego will begin their new campaign with a four match road trip that includes a rematch with Duke on Thursday, August 21 for a 4:00 p.m. PST kickoff. USD's first chance to compete in the San Diego area will be Monday, September 1 at 5:00 p.m. against crosstown rival San Diego State from Snapdragon Stadium.
USD's regular season home opener will be a must-see matchup against California Baptist on Thursday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Torero Stadium. Torero fans won't want to miss the home opener as the team will be giving away free WCC Championship T-shirts.
