SAN DIEGO — After a two-game Pacific Northwest road swing, San Diego women's basketball is back home this weekend to host Washington State and Seattle U. The Toreros (8-16, 2-9 WCC) will defend their home turf as they take on the Cougars (4-20, 3-8 WCC) on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m and the Redhawks (5-17, 1-10 WCC) on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ and live statistics will be available on StatBroadcast. Braden Surprenant and Alex Miniak will have the TV call on Thursday before Surprenant and Brian Rosario have the call on Saturday.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST WASHINGTON STATE & SEATTLE U
WASHINGTON STATE:
• The Toreros are 0-5 against the Cougars all-time. This will be the first match-up between the teams this season.
• USD and Washington State most recently met on February 1, 2025, with the Toreros suffering a 67-60 loss at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
SEATTLE U:
• The Toreros lead the all-time series, 5-1.
• USD and SU last faced each other on January 8, 2026, when the Toreros suffered a 68-62 defeat to the Redhawks.
• San Diego most recently defeated Seattle U on December 12, 2016, when it prevailed by a 67-44 margin at the JCP.
LAST TIME OUT: TOREROS FALL SHORT AGAINST BEAVERS AND PILOTS
• The Toreros traveled to the Pacific Northwest last week and dropped a pair of hard-fought WCC matchups, falling to Oregon State by a 61-43 margin on Thursday (January 29) before coming up on the wrong side of a 64-59 decision at Portland on Saturday (January 31).
• Both games were closely contested; USD trailed by just two points at halftime in Corvallis, and had a chance to pull ahead in the final seconds at Portland.

Kylie Ray | Sophomore | Guard | La Crescenta, California
• Averaging 16.3 points per game across 24 contests while shooting 36 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the arc, and 90 percent from the free throw line. Also leads the Toreros with 49 assists.
• Ranks fourth in the WCC in PPG and is leading the league in free throw percentage.
• Scored a game-high 26 points on Saturday (January 24) night against LMU.
• Grandfather is former UCLA men's basketball head coach Jim Harrick.
Olivia Owens | Freshman | Guard | Columbus, Ohio
• Leads USD with 40 steals and 1.90 steals per game in 2025-2026, which ranks sixth among all WCC players and are the most of any freshman in the conference.
• Totaled 27 points (including five made threes), seven rebounds, and four assists last Saturday at Portland (Jan. 31).
Hallie Rhodes | Senior | Guard | Keller, Texas
• Averaging 10.7 PPG and has totaled 71 rebounds, 26 steals, and 14 blocks in 2025-2026.
Ayla Williams | Freshman | Post | Las Vegas, Nevada
• Is pacing the San Diego defense with 16 blocks so far this season, which ranks 13th in the WCC.
• Was named WCC Freshman of the Week back on December 8 after averaging 13 points and 17 rebounds across a two-game stretch against Binghamton and Utah State.
• Is the only Torero to earn a weekly WCC honor in 2025-2026.
