ALL TIME SERIES AGAINST SEATTLE U

• San Diego leads Seattle U 6-5 in the all-time series, with the programs having met most recently in February 2022 at a neutral site in Cathedral City, California, where the Redhawks took a 5-1 victory.
• USD holds a 3-1 record in games played in San Diego — going 2-0 in the March 2014 series before splitting a doubleheader with the Redhawks in February 2011, with San Diego dropping game one in ten innings before taking game two 2-0.
• This weekend marks the first time the two programs have met as conference opponents, as Seattle U joins the West Coast Conference for the 2026 season.
• The last time the two programs met in San Diego was in March 2014, when the Toreros swept both games of the series, winning 9-0 and 6-2.

LAST TIME OUT — PACIFIC

San Diego closed out its final road trip of the 2026 season at Pacific in Stockton, taking one of three from the Tigers.

5/1 at Pacific (L, 2-4):
San Diego struck first with two runs in the first inning — Kaitlyn Wynia singled and scored on a Taylor Johnson RBI double, before Johnson came home on a Shawnese Hogue-Lacy RBI double to right field — but Pacific answered immediately and pulled ahead with two more in the fifth to take the opener.

5/2 at Pacific (W, 5-3):
San Diego never trailed in game two, plating two runs in the second inning on RBI doubles from Hailey Mulligan and Janae Combs before Taylor Johnson put the game away with a three-run home run to right field in the fifth. Alex Riggs threw three scoreless innings in relief to close it out as the Toreros evened the series.

5/3 at Pacific (L, 3-4):
San Diego rallied for three runs but couldn't complete the comeback, falling 4-3 in the series finale. Kaylee Oh stole home in the fourth to put the Toreros on the board, and Michelle Delgado delivered a two-run triple to center in the sixth to pull San Diego within one, but Pacific held on to take the series.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
#20 Mallory Axline | INF | Sophomore | San Diego, CA | Cathedral Catholic High School

The sophomore has been one of USD's most consistent offensive contributors all season, batting .306 with 41 hits, three triples, and 14 RBIs across 43 games while posting a .336 on-base percentage and .366 slugging percentage. She holds the team's longest hitting streak of the season at 11 games and has recorded nine multi-hit games on the year. She is currently on a 16-game reached base streak, the longest active streak on the roster.

Axline delivered a three-RBI triple vs. Cal Poly and went 2-for-3 with an RBI against Notre Dame and 2-for-4 with two RBIs against Grand Canyon in the USD/SDSU Co-Host Tournament. She drove in a run in game two of the Idaho State doubleheader to help fuel USD's two-out seventh-inning rally, and delivered an RBI single in the LMU series opener to help ignite the six-run third inning.

#1 Kaitlyn Wynia | OF | Junior | Torrance, CA | Torrance High School
The Torrance, California native leads the team in hits (49) and ranks among the team leaders in batting average (.327) and on-base percentage (.373) across 48 games. With just 16 strikeouts on the season, Wynia remains the most disciplined contact hitter in the USD lineup and has recorded 14 multi-hit games on the year — the most of any Torero.

Wynia announced herself immediately, going 2-for-2 in the season opener at UC Davis and following with a 3-for-4 performance with an RBI vs. Colorado State. She doubled and drove in a run vs. Weber State and posted her best game of the non-conference schedule vs. Kansas City, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. She carried that production into the USD/SDSU Co-Host Tournament, going 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs in the 11-10 thriller against Princeton, and hit .500 (5-for-10) across three games against Idaho State without striking out once. She delivered the walk-off fielder's choice in the ninth inning to lift San Diego to a 4-3 victory over Hawai'i on April 16, and most recently went 2-for-4 in the series opener at Pacific.

#14 Taylor Johnson | UT | Senior | Seal Beach, CA | Los Alamitos High School
The 2024 WCC Batting Champion has been San Diego's most dangerous offensive threat all season, batting .311 with a team-leading six home runs, 14 doubles, and 24 RBIs while posting a .553 slugging percentage and .413 on-base percentage across 47 games. Her .553 slugging percentage is the highest on the roster and her 12 multi-hit games ranks second amongst her teammates.

Johnson has delivered in the biggest moments all year. She launched a three-run home run to cap the six-run third inning in the LMU series opener, then went back-to-back with Michelle Delgado in the first inning of the series finale. Most recently, she had a strong series at Pacific — going 5-for-11 with a home run, two doubles, four RBIs, and three runs scored across three games, highlighted by a three-run shot in the fifth inning of game two to put San Diego ahead for good in a 5-3 victory.

#9 Kaylee Oh | OF | Junior | Murrieta, CA | Murrieta Mesa High School / Miami (OH) / Oregon State
The junior outfielder has been one of the steadiest contributors in the USD lineup all season, batting .273 with 20 RBIs, 22 runs scored, and a .345 on-base percentage across 47 games.

Oh has consistently delivered in key spots throughout the season. She drove in a run with an RBI single vs. Weber State and went 3-for-4 in the Sacramento State series finale. She homered in the Oregon State series opener, delivered a two-run single in game two to push the Toreros' lead to 6-3, and doubled home a run in the fifth inning to ignite the game-two win against LMU. She delivered a two-run triple against Cal State Fullerton, and most recently went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the series finale at Pacific.

#26 Abrielle Diaz | INF | Freshman | Riverside, CA | Grand Terrace High School
The freshman has emerged as one of USD's most productive run producers, batting .269 with 18 RBIs, two home runs, and five doubles across 30 games while posting a .410 slugging percentage and .326 on-base percentage.

Diaz has been at her best with runners on base, delivering timely hits throughout the season including an RBI single in the LMU series and a two-run single against Utah Tech.

#4 Kaitlyn Bartlow | RHP | Junior | Westlake Village, CA | Westlake High School

Bartlow has been one of the most durable arms on the staff, posting a 4.70 ERA across 28 appearances and 15 starts with two saves in 98.1 innings, striking out 34 batters while throwing three complete games.

She delivered a complete-game shutout vs. Montana, earned the win with 6.1 innings of one-run ball vs. Kansas City, and went the distance against nationally-ranked Grand Canyon. Most recently, she held Saint Mary's, one of the top teams in the WCC, to just two earned runs across five innings in the series opener on April 24 in a game USD lost 2-0. Her record of 5-11 is not reflective of the quality of her outings throughout the season.

#21 Charlie Johnson | RHP | Senior | San Diego, CA | Del Norte High School / Sonoma State
The San Diego native has been the anchor of the USD pitching staff all season, posting a 3.65 ERA across 34 appearances and 117.0 innings with three saves and four complete games while issuing 47 walks. Her 3.65 ERA is the lowest among all USD starters.

Johnson earned a win and a save in San Diego's two victories over LMU, serving as the steadying force in both games. In the series opener, she entered in relief and worked 1.1 scoreless innings to close out the 6-3 win and record her third save of the season. She returned as the starter in game two, working 3.2 innings and allowing just one earned run while striking out two to earn the win in the 3-2 victory. She went all nine innings in a complete game walk-off victory over Hawai'i on April 16 — allowing just two earned runs while striking out four and holding the Rainbow Wahine scoreless over the final four innings with the game tied. Most recently, she earned the win in game two at Pacific, throwing four innings before Alex Riggs closed it out with three scoreless frames.

KELSEY TADLOCK NAMED WCC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

San Diego left handed pitcher Kelsey Tadlock was named the WCC Pitcher of the Week for March 23, 2026, the West Coast Conference announced on Monday morning.

Tadlock was at her best when it mattered most during the Toreros' series at Sacramento State,  allowing just one earned run across 6.2 innings and two appearances in the circle. The senior lefty opened the series with a scoreless inning of relief in the Saturday opener before returning to the circle Sunday to start the series finale, holding the Hornets to one run on four hits across 5.2 innings before earning the win in a 3-2 eight-inning victory that closed out non-conference play.

This is USD's first weekly conference award since April 14, 2025, when Joecellia Roberts and McKenna Braegelmann swept the weekly awards with Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively.
