MORAGA, Calif. (AP) - Paul Marigney scored 25 points and Daniel Kickert added 23 as Saint Mary's topped San Diego 86-67 on Saturday night.
Kickert also had a career-high four blocks and a game-high eight rebounds for Saint Mary's (12-7, 3-1), which moved into second place in the West Coast Conference. E.J. Rowland added 11 points and six assists for the Gaels.
Brett Melton scored 20 points to lead San Diego (3-16, 0-4), which lost its 13th straight road game. Nick Lewis had 16 points and Brandon Gay and Brice Vounang scored 12 each.
Leading 48-44 early in the second half, Saint Mary's used a 12-2 run to break the game open, building a 60-46 lead when Kickert scored with 11:47 to play. San Diego could get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
The Gaels, who hit 52.7 percent from the floor in a victory over Santa Clara on Thursday, continued their hot shooting, shooting 51.7 percent against San Diego.
Saint Mary's trailed only at 2-0 and eventually built an 18-point lead in the first half. San Diego answered by scoring the final 10 points of the half, cutting the Gaels' halftime lead to 42-34.
