SAN DIEGO, CA - The University of San Diego men's tennis team clinched a decisive 5-2 victory over the UNLV Rebels Saturday afternoon at USD's West Tennis Courts.

In doubles action, Pierrick Ysern and Thomas Liversage teamed up to defeat Joel Kielbowicz and David Campbell 9-7. Oscar Plotnik and Jonas Mouly clinched the doubles point with a 9-7 win over UNLV's Jonathan Hooper and Brett Hunter. Mirza Koristovic and Matt Ozurovich narrowly dropped their set to Romain Massaro and Wesley Burrows 9-8.

In the singles ladder, three sets were decided by tiebreakers. Pierrick Ysern defeated Kielbowicz in the No. 1 spot (6-1, 6-3). In the No. 2 slot, Mirza Koristovic lost his set to Massaro as scores went 7-5, 3-6, (1-0). Oscar Plotnik defeated his opponent, UNLV's Brett Hunter, in a set determined by a tiebreaker (6-3, 2-6, (1-0)). Thomas Liversage took a decisive 6-0, 6-4 victory over David Campbell in the No. 4 spot as did freshman newcomer Chris Loetzee who defeated Jonathan Hooper by scores of 6-3 and 6-4 in the No. 6 spot. Jonas Mouly lost his set to Elliot Wronski. Scores went 4-6, 6-3, (1-0).

This win for the Toreros marks their second straight as San Diego is now 2-1 on the season. USD continues their three-game home stretch on February 3 in a 1:30 pm match against USF at USD's West Tennis Courts.
