Final Stats
LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's swimming and diving team finished in the middle of the pack at the always competitive Nike Cup this past weekend. The Toreros competed in 17 different team and individual events over the three days. They captured four top-15 team marks, four top-15 individual marks, and three top-25 individual marks.
In the 400 medley relay, the USD A squad finished with a team high 11th place (Kristin Yoon, Justine Bartos, Joy Miller, and Laura Pope) in a time of 4:05.31. Yoon, Bartos, Miller, and Tina Levesque finished the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:51.54 earning 12th place overall.
Miller also recorded a team high 11th place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.81. Miller also scored a 13th place mark in her 100 butterfly race with a time of 58.40. Freshman Courtney Weigand recorded a 12th place finish in her 1650 freestyle race with a time of 17:41.79 with teammate Katie Kiefer right behind her in 13th place overall with a time of 17:42.12.
USD finished in 12th place overall at the 2007 Nike Cup. USD Returns to the water on December 15 at home against Northern Arizona University to kick off their Western Athletic Conference season.
