SAN ANTONIO, Texas - University of San Diego women's swimming and diving held onto their seventh place spot on day two of the WAC Championship.
The night began San Diego's Sarah Gleason earning second place in the 500-yard freestyle. Gleason swam a preliminary time of 4:55.49 and followed with finals time of 4:55.24. In the 200 individual medley, Torero Sarah Geerdes finished third and clocked a time of 2:02.30 after recording a fourth place preliminary time of 2:04.82.
San Diego's Monica Oddo took 15th place overall in the one meter diving event with 204.90 point.
The Toreros finished the day with an eighth place finish in the 800 freestyle relay (Sarah Geerdes, Sarah Gleason, Laura Pope, Kristina Levesque) in a time of 1:34.52.
After two days of competition, Northern Arizona leads the meet with 245 points while Nevada is in second with 211. Hawai`i is third with 183 points followed by New Mexico State with 166, San Jose State 162, Boise State 152, San Diego 121, Idaho 87 and Fresno State with 55.
Action continues tomorrow at Palo Alto College Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas with the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 3-meter diving and 400 medley relay. Prelims begin at 11:00 a.m. and the finals start at 6:30 p.m.
