Toreros Win Four of Five Races Against Kansas State

AUSTIN, Tex. - The USD women's rowing day continued their impressive day at the Longhorn Invitational, beating Kansas State in four of their five races in the afternoon session. The Toreros captured wins with their 1V8, 2V8, 1V4, and 2V4 after sweeping Iowa State in the morning session. USD's strong showing on Saturday has qualified them to play Yale in the championship Sunday morning.

The Toreros' 1V8 squad cruised to a victory in the last race of the afternoon, finishing in 6:52.8 while Kansas State came in at 7:01.5. USD's 2V8 barely edged out the Wildcats, beating them by 6:58.1 to 6:58.12.

USD was able to grab victories for both their V4 boats. Their 1V4 boat finished in 7:38.9, while Kansas State clocked in at 7:50.4. Their 2V4 squad earned a 7:41.0 finish while the Wildcats finished in 7:51.6.

The only Toreros' loss came in the 3V8 boat, where Kansas State beat 7:04.7 to 7:13.3. On the day the Toreros won nine of their ten races after sweeping Central Florida in the morning session.

The Toreros will conclude the Longhorn Invitational Sunday morning when they face Yale in the championship for the 1V8, 2V8, 1V4, and 2V4.
