STOCKTON, Calif. - The University of San Diego baseball team's run in the West Coast Conference Tournament came to an end with a 4-2 loss to Pepperdine University Friday evening at Banner Island Ballpark.

With the loss, the Toreros fall to 33-22 overall, and are eliminated from the WCC. With the win, the Waves improve to 29-27 overall and will advance onto the championship game on Saturday against Loyola Marymount.

Pepperdine got on the scoreboard first, as they managed to score four runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Pepperdine runs came on back-to-back home runs, a three-run shot by Hutton Moyer and a solo home run by Chris Fornaci to give the Waves a 4-0 lead.

San Diego then answered in the top of the seventh inning, scoring two runs on two hits. Riley Adams got things started with a stand-up double down the right field line. Aidan Stinnett then launched a 2-run homer over the left field fence to put the game at its final of 4-2.

Offensively for the Toreros, Jesse Jenner led the way, as he went 2-for-4, while Stinnett went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.

Taylor Kaczmarek (1-2) was saddled with the loss on the mound for the Toreros, as he allowed four runs on six hits in 2.2 innings of work. CJ Burdick came on in relief and was lights out, as he allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out a career-high 10 in 5.1 innings of work. Pepperdine's Ryan Wilson got the win, as he allowed two runs on seven hits in 7.0 innings of work. Max Gamboa got the save, as he allowed no runs on no hits in 1.0 innings of work.
