SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The 18th-ranked University of San Diego women's volleyball team cruised past UC Santa Barbara in a non-conference match at the Thunderdome.
With the 25-20, 25-20, 25-13 win, the Toreros improve to 6-3 overall, while the Gauchos fall to 4-4 overall with the loss.
Lisa Kramer once again led the Torero offense, as she recorded a match-best 16 kills, while only committing one attack error to hit for a .750 clip. Lauren Schad, Lauren Fuller, Merve Tanyel, and Jayden Kennedy have all recorded six kills apiece. Kristen Gengenbacher recorded 24 assists, while Hunter Jennings had 16 digs.
As a team, the Toreros hit for a .323 clip, and the Gauchos hit for a .112 clip. USD out blocked UCSB 8.0-6.0.
For the Gauchos, Britton Taylor paced the offense with eight kills, while hitting for a .211 clip. Emilia Petrachi led the defense with 10 digs, while Annie Hesselmann led the team with 13 assists.
The Toreros will return to action on Friday, as they travel to Long Beach State to compete in an 11:30 a.m. non-conference match.
