LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The USD Swim and Dive team finished the second day of the MSPF championships in sixth place. The day was highlighted by Bri Jurries school record in the 200 IM.

Jurries set the record in the prelims with a time of 2:01.6. She followed that up an even better performance in the evening, finishing in 1:59.59. Her finish earned her second place and shattered the previous record of 2:02.30 set by Sarah Geerdes in 2009. Sarah Reierson also earned points for Toreros in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.12, good for 13th place. Freshman MK Clancy swam a season-best time of 2:06.80.

In the 500 free, freshman Mackenna Briggs swam a career best time in both the prelims and finals. After posting a time of 4:59.84 in the morning, she bested that in the evening by three seconds 4:56.50 to finish in tenth place. Fellow freshman Liza Kuznetsova also qualified for the finals with a season best time (5:03.77) in the prelims and finished in 16^th place.

In the 50 free, Danielle and Jackie Taylor each earned points for the Toreros. Danielle Taylor (10^th place) hit the wall in a career best time of 23.47, just 0.28 seconds behind her sister's school record. Jackie Taylor finished in 23.83 for 16^th place.

The Toreros finished the evening with a sixth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. Danielle Taylor, Jackie Taylor, Stephanie Jones, and Jurries finished with a time of 1:33.64.

The Toreros continue the MPSF championships tomorrow beginning with prelims in the 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 breast, and 100 back at 10:00 a.m.
