SAN DIEGO, Calif. â€" The University of San Diego baseball team picked up a 10-4 win over to league-leading Gonzaga University Saturday evening in a West Coast Conference game at Fowler Park.

With the win, the Toreros finish the season with a 27-29 overall record, and a 13-14 mark in the WCC. With the loss, the Zags fall to 33-18 overall, move to 18-9 in the WCC, and have claimed a share of the WCC Championship.

The Toreros got on the scoreboard first, as they scored two runs on four hits in the bottom of the first inning. Bryson Brigman got things started with a one-out single, and he moved to third on a Ryan Kirby double to right field. Then back-to-back RBI singles by Riley Adams and Hunter Mercado-Hood gave USD a 2-0 lead.

After USD tacked on one run in the bottom of the second, USD really got some breathing room in the bottom of the third by scoring three runs on four hits. The Torero runs came on a Brigman 2-run single and a Kirby RBI single, to give USD a commanding 6-0 lead.

The Zags then got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth, by scoring two runs, and two more in the top of the fifth, while USD score two in the fourth, and two more in the bottom of the eighth to put the game at its final of 10-4.

Offensively for the Toreros, Brigman led the way as he went 3-for-5 with three RBI.

CJ Burdick (1-1) picked up the win on the mound for the Toreros, as he allowed no runs on three hits in 4.1 innings of work. Gonzaga's Wells (3-3) allowed five runs on eight hits in 2.2 innings of work.
