SAN DIEGO – San Diego continues conference play with a pair of road matches this weekend at Santa Clara and San Francisco.

The Toreros (7-9, 4-2 WCC) open the weekend against the Broncos (5-13, 0-5 WCC) on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT. USD wraps up the Bay Area trip on Saturday at noon against San Francisco. It will be the Toreros first time playing two consecutive road matches since the opening weekend of the season on Aug. 24-25 at No. 17 Washington.

Both matches will be streamed on theW.tv and live statistics will be available via USDToreros.com.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros went 0-2 last week, dropping decisions at San Diego State and at home against No. 1 BYU.

• USD started slow and could not regroup as the Toreros were swept, 3-0, by San Diego State night at Peterson Gym

• The loss snapped USD's (7-8) five-match winning streak against the Aztecs (3-14) and is the first defeat against SDSU since Nov. 14, 2012. It is the first time the Toreros have been swept by an unranked opponent since a, 3-0, decision against Loyola Marymount on Nov. 24, 2015, and USD had not been swept by SDSU since Aug. 31, 1996.

• The Toreros were held to their third-lowest hitting percentage of the season (.125) and could not slow down an Aztecs offense that registered its best performance of the season (.410).

• Roxie Wiblin and Megan Jacobsen led the Toreros offensively with eight kills apiece. Wiblin hit .438 on the night and Jacobsen hit. 312.

• Megan Jacobsen and Roxie Wiblin recorded 10 kills apiece but it was not enough to take down No. 1 BYU, as the Toreros fell, 3-1, Friday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

• After dropping the first set, 25-21, the Toreros (7-9, 4-2 WCC) became the fifth team this season to take a set from the top-ranked Cougars (16-0, 6-0 WCC), winning the second, 26-24. However, USD could not sustain the momentum and dropped the third (25-16) and fourth (25-10) sets.

• Addie Picha did it all for the Toreros, leading the team in hitting percentage (.467) with eight kills, and recorded four blocks, a dig and an assist.

• It was a tough night offensively overall for USD, which hit a season-low .046. BYU's Kennedy Eschenberg and Heather Gneiting played well at the net, contributing seven and six blocks, respectively.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SANTA CLARA
• USD is 35-32 all-time against Santa Clara and have won each of the past six meetings. The Toreros have won 12 consecutive sets against the Broncos entering Thursdays match.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAN FRANCISCO
• The Toreros are 50-18 all-time against San Francisco and have won the past six matches, and 14 of the past 16. USD has won 18 of the past 20 sets against the Dons.

LEADING THE ATTACK
•  Lauren Fuller leads the Toreros with 163 kills and 2.91 kills per set. Roxie Wiblin is second on the team with 157 kills (2.66 per set), followed by Addie Picha with 125 (2.12 per set).

• Anna Newsome and Laura Madill have shared the responsibility at setter and pace the team with 384 and 262 assists, respectively.

PICHA AT THE NET
• Addie Picha has been stellar defensively and leads the Toreros with 85 blocks (1.44 per set). Picha has accounted for 66 percent of USD's blocks this season.

STRONG FIRST IMPRESSIONS
• The Toreros have gotten significant contributions from its freshman class this season. Kelli Barry has spent a majority of the time at libero and leads the team with 150 digs. Katie Lukes, Laura Madill and Annie Benbow have also contributed significant time in the lineup.

ON THE DEFENSIVE SIDE
• Freshman Kelli Barry has played well at libero and leads the team with 150 digs (3.06 per set). Roxie Wiblin is second on the team with 113 digs (1.92 per set).
