SAN DIEGO—San Diego will host midweek games against San Diego State and Hawaii before traveling to face Saint Mary's for a weekend conference series.

The Toreros (25-15, 9-9 WCC) will play host to the Aztecs (24-17) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and the Rainbow Warriors (16-20) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Fowler Park. USD will then travel north to take on the Gaels (23-16, 8-7 WCC) on Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
• San Diego went 3-1 last week, defeating California Baptist 5-4 and taking the series with Portland, 2-1. The Toreros defeated the Pilots on Thursday 4-3 and 10-2 on Friday before falling in the Saturday finale, 20-0.

The Toreros hit .239 (32-for-134) with eight doubles, a triple and 16 RBIs. USD posted a .313 slugging percentage and .311 on-base percentage in four games.

Ripken Reyes finished 7-for-14 (.500) with a run and an RBI. Reyes was 3-for-4 in both Thursday and Friday's games against the Pilots, including a double in the series opener. Reyes was hit by a pitch three times last week and now holds the school record for most HBP in a season with 20—the previous record of 17 was held by Tony Perez (2003).

Adam Kerner went 5-for-13 (.385) for the week with three doubles, three runs and three RBIs. Kerner finished the week with a .615 slugging percentage and .429 on-base percentage.

• The Toreros held off a late comeback from California Baptist after the Lancers put two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure a 5-4 victory. The Torero bullpen pitched five shutout innings including four strikeouts to hold off CBU down the stretch.

Jeff Houghtby provided the winning run in Thursday's series opener against Portland. With two outs in the 10th inning, the senior shortstop sent an 0-1 pitch to shallow left field to score a runner from third for the walk-off 4-3 victory. The duo of
Chris Murphy and
Travis Kuhn combined for 12 strikeouts in the contest.

• USD scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back in the 10-2 victory over the Pilots on Friday night. Starter
Grady Miller (4-2) pitched seven strong innings for the Toreros, giving up just two runs on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

• San Diego's bullpen struggled against the Pilots in the Saturday finale, with USD falling 20-0. Collectively, the Torero relievers gave up 17 runs on 15 hits and nine walks with five strikeouts. Portland's Chris Clements pitched a gem, holding the Toreros to one hit through eight innings of work.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST SAN DIEGO STATE
• This Aztecs lead the all-time series with the Toreros 73-57-2, and the teams split the series last season. USD took the first meeting earlier this season at Tony Gwynn Stadium, 4-2.

• The Toreros trail the all-time series to Hawaii 2-7. The last matchup between the two teams came in the 2010 Tempe Regional, with the 'Bows coming out on top 12-9 in an elimination game to end USD's season.
