SAN DIEGO—San Diego will conclude the regular season with a five-game homestand beginning Tuesday against UC Irvine.

The Toreros (28-20, 12-12 WCC) will play host to the Anteaters (29-13) for the midweek game beginning at 6 p.m. before taking on Pacific (21-22, 8-13 WCC) for their final conference series on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
• San Diego went 2-1 last week, in its weekend series with Santa Clara. The Toreros took the Friday night game 14-6 and Sunday game 6-6, dropping Saturday's contest 5-2.

• The Toreros hit .294 (32-for-109) with four doubles, one triple and 20 RBIs. USD posted a .349 slugging percentage and .398 on-base percentage in three games.

• The Toreros saw strong performances out of the bullpen.Â
Anthony Donatella was dominant in San Diego's 14-6 victory over Santa Clara on Friday night. The senior lefthander came on in relief in the first inning and pitched 8.2 shutout innings to complete the game for USD. Donatella dealt seven strikeouts and retired 13 of the first 14 batters faced. He held the Broncos to six hits and allowed just two walks to secure his third win of the season.

Travis Kuhn came on in relief of
Chris Murphy in the fourth inning of game two and pitched the remaining 4.2 innings. Kuhn held the Broncos to one hit and one run (unearned) with one walk and six strikeouts. The righthander retired the final nine batters in order including five strikeouts.

• San Diego used a potent offense and the dominant performance by Donatella to take game one of the series 14-6. After the Broncos took an early 6-4 lead in the first, the Toreros put up runs in the fourth (3), fifth (2), seventh (1) and ninth (4) innings to secure the game one victory.

• In game two, the Toreros could not overcome a 5-0 deficit and fell to SCU, 5-2. It was a game of missed opportunities for the Toreros who collected six hits in the contest and left nine runners on base.
Jeff Houghtby finished 1-for-3 with an RBI double, while
Shane McGuire went 1-for-4 recording USD's second RBI.

• San Diego held off a late-inning comeback to defeat Santa Clara 8-6 in the finale. The Broncos put up three runs in the eighth and loaded the bases in the both the eighth and ninth innings but the Torero held off the rally to clinch the series. USD's 6-run sixth inning proved the difference maker in the contest, including a 2-RBI triple from
Cody Jefferis.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST UC IRVINE
• The Anteaters lead the all-time series 60-47-1, taking the first meeting earlier this season in Irvine, 17-7.Â

• No. 21 UCI put up nine runs through the first two innings, forcing the Toreros to play catch-up for the remainder of the contest. Reyes paced the Toreros offensively going 3-for-5 including a two-run home run.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PACIFIC
• The Toreros hold the advantage in the all-time series with the Tigers, 15-6. San Diego took the series last season 2-1, winning the first two games 7-4 and 9-0 before dropping the finale, 9-7.
