SAN DIEGO — San Diego women's rowing captured three championships at the San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday morning, marking the program's second consecutive winning weekend.

The Toreros prevailed in the 1V8+, 1V4+,  and 2V4+ in the virtual event, competing against the likes of San Diego State and USC on Mission Bay. The race format was two 1500 meter lengths in opposite directions, and results were determined by GPS data submitted to the Crew Classic. 

San Diego's top varsity eight had a close battle with the Aztecs, but pulled off the 12 second lead over the two pieces to claim the Crew Classic Championship.

The Toreros' second varsity eight created a commanding lead over San Diego State and accrued a 46-second advantage over the two pieces. They also competed virtually against No. 18 USC, finishing 13.2 seconds behind the Trojans.

The first and second varsity fours raced against San Diego State's first varsity four, besting SDSU to claim the championship in both events. 

San Diego's first varsity came in ahead of USC by 17.6 seconds, and the Aztecs did not submit results for the varsity 4+.

USD returns to action on Saturday, April 10 with an event against LMU and UC San Diego in San Diego.
