SAN DIEGO - San Diego men's tennis (4-1) continued their strong play with a dominating 7-0 win over UNLV (3-7) on Friday afternoon at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. 

"We had a great two weeks of training after our last outing and felt confident heading into the weekend", said head coach Ryan Keckley.  "We put our work into action today and finished the match feeling positive about our tennis overall."

The Toreros got off to a hot start as August Holmgren and David Norfeldt won their doubles match 6-3. The win was quickly followed by Blake Kasday and Marvin Schaber's 6-4 win which clinched the double's point for the Toreros. 

In singles play, Holmgren continued to show why he's one of the best players in the country with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court 1 to extend the lead to 2-0. 

Sacchitt Sharrma pushed the Toreros lead to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 win which was immediately followed by Nico Borter's 6-1, 6-4 match clincher. San Diego won the remaining singles matches. 

"This win is a step in the right direction for this program," said Keckley. "We are excited to see what Sunday will bring for this group."

The Toreros will be back on the court Sunday March 5 as they take on No. 18 Arizona. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. (PT)
