Spectacular Season Concludes

Holmgren defeated in three sets in Round of 16

Orlando, Fla - August Holmgren's sensational season came to an end of Tuesday as he was defeated 3-6, 7-5, 4-6 by No. 21 Adrian Boitan of Baylor in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championships.

Despite the loss, this season will be remembered for Holmgren's many accolades. By advancing to the Round of 16, he became the sixth men's player in Toreros history to earn All-American honors and the first to do it since 2016.

Holmgren finishes this year with a record of 16-4, playing all of his matches at the No. 1 singles position. He became the fourth Torero to win WCC Player of the Year, was named to the WCC All Singles First team and was WCC Player of the Week for the week ending on April 19.
