SAN DIEGO – The University of San Diego men's tennis team hosted the
San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center over the weekend, with
Stian Klaassen,
Lambert Ruland,
Nikhil Niranjan, and
Christian Kuehne competing.
In total, the Toreros won 10 singles matches and three doubles matches.
"It was wonderful for this group to compete in what felt similar to an actual dual match competition," said head coach
Ryan Keckley. "Three of our players had never played for the Toreros before, so getting their feet wet in our second annual SDVTC was special for them. They all competed well throughout the weekend as we continue to identify areas we need to focus on developing in the coming weeks.
I want to thank the SDVTC committee for putting on such a fantastic event as well. They put a lot of hours into making this a unique tournament that brings our military community to USD's campus through community service efforts. I look forward to partnering with them in the coming years and making this event stronger each year."
