MALIBU, Calif. – Behind another strong performance from Oliver Tarvet and the success of Iiro Vasa and Sacchitt Sharrma, the San Diego men's tennis program completed action at the ITA Southwest Regionals, hosted by Pepperdine.  
 
The Toreros swept through the round of 128 and round of 64 completely, as all five players won their matches. From there, the field slowly thinned, as Tarvet and Vasa rolled on, alongside deep runs from Neo Niedner and Lambert Ruland.
 
Tarvet and Vasa would ultimately face off against each other in the quarterfinal, with Tarvet holding a 4-3 edge, before Vasa was forced to retire from the match. Tarvet would take the No. 23 player in the nation to a first set tiebreaker, but could not bounce back from the first set loss and ended his run in the semifinal.
 
Tarvet is now 11-2 in singles through fall action and has defeated five ranked opponents across three events.  
 
In doubles, Vasa and Sharrma entered as the top seed in the tournament and were strong throughout the event, rolling through the first three rounds after receiving a bye. That would lead them to the semifinal, where they ultimately would come up short.
 
San Diego is back in action this week, competing at the SoCal Intercollegiates, hosted by USC from Thursday, Oct. 26 to Sunday, Oct. 29.
