SAN DIEGO – Head coach
Brian Quinn and the San Diego men's soccer program have set their 2023 schedule, with play set to begin in August.
"First of all, our schedule is challenging because our conference is the strongest it has been for quite a while," said Quinn. "Every road game is a battle and opening up at Seattle and Washington will provide a stern early season test. It's also great to be playing both UC San Diego and San Diego State, as it showcases the best of local college soccer."
The regular season opens up with a two-game road trip in the state of Washington, with the Toreros opening the season against Seattle on Thursday, Aug. 24 at Seattle at 4 p.m. The Toreros will also play at Washington on Saturday, Aug. 27.
The home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 1 against CSUN at 7 p.m., at Torero Stadium. The game begins a stretch of five straight games at home, as the Toreros will next host Cal Poly on Sept. 4.
San Diego will welcome UC Riverside on Sept. 8, before hosting George Washington on Sept. 10 and California Baptist on Sept. 13.
After a quick trip to Phoenix, Ariz., to face Grand Canyon on Sept. 16, the Toreros will host intra-city foe UC San Diego on Sept. 20. The Toreros will also make a brief trip to Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 24.
Conference play opens on Friday, Sept. 29 at Torero Stadium against San Francisco. The Toreros clinched last season's WCC title with a 1-0 victory over the Dons in the final game of the regular season.
Following the WCC opener, the Toreros will travel to Saint Mary's on Oct. 7. The non-conference season will end shortly thereafter with a home matchup against San Diego State on Oct. 14.
A clash of WCC heavyweights is set for Oct. 21, as the Toreros travel to Portland. After a mid-week battle with LMU on Oct. 25, the Toreros head back on the road for the final time at Santa Clara on Oct. 28.
The regular season ends with a pair of home games, as the Toreros welcome Pacific on Nov. 4 and Gonzaga on Nov. 10.
