BOSTON – Traveling across the country for one of the biggest regattas of the season, the San Diego women's rowing team put together a stellar performance at the 2025 Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday afternoon.
USD sent one boat to compete at this weekend's regatta as the Toreros' first varsity eight crew raced in the women's club eights competition and put together a strong team race to reach the podium with a fifth place finish and an overall time of 16:40.32 to wrap up the trip.
"It was a great day to be a Torero," head women's rowing coach Katie Thurstin said. "This was San Diego's first time winning a medal at the Head of the Charles in the Club 8+ event. The athletes executed a really well rowed race. It's exciting to see this group come together this early in the year. We're excited to get back home to the rest of our team and shift our focus to the San Diego Fall Classic."
