SAN DIEGO – Getting the team's 2025 schedule started close to home, the San Diego women's rowing team was in action on Saturday morning competing at the Rowing Cares regatta on Mission Bay.

Keeping up with the team's strong season debut, the Toreros Varsity 4+ boat put together a quality time as well at 14:23 to get the fall season started.

"We are all excited to start our fall racing season, especially when it is on our beautiful home course," USD head women's rowing coach Katie Thurstin said. "Rowing Cares is a great event that supports local organizations who help local families impacted by breast cancer. The athletes had fun being in mixed lineups and really challenged each other to put down the fastest times today. We're looking forward to Head of the Charles and the Fall Classic."
